Here’s two drills we’ve been doing with one of our talented Tour Players, Rick Lamb, who is having a fantastic season and recently finished an impressive 2nd place, just narrowly losing in a thrilling playoff. One drill that we focus on here involves using a golf ball and an alignment stick positioned strategically behind the ball. We recommend starting off slowly and intentionally, as you learn to hit the ball while successfully missing the stick. This particular exercise promotes improved rotation through the ball and encourages a smooth transition into the lead side, which is crucial for developing a powerful swing! The other drill we incorporate is using a medicine ball in a single-leg stance, which is designed to help you develop the necessary ability and learn the correct movements to effectively rotate into the lead side while also maintaining proper posture throughout the swing. We practice these two drills together during our practice sessions to create specific feelings that can seamlessly transfer to the course, while also focusing on constantly developing and reinforcing the movement pattern!
