as a former basketball player, I love the analogy. This guy is money.
what is fleeping
I like the feeling of putting my hands in my trail pocket while maintaining the wrist angle
Great tip Tom! I have been concentrating so much on weight forward and left arm straight and while that really helped me, I was still slightly “scooping” — I started incorporating this idea into my swing a few weeks ago and with the other fundamentals that you emphasize, it’s made a world of difference 😊
The John Cleese ministry of silly swings flipping hell.
Another great video Tom. Still wanting to gain consistency in my game. Your mini course👌.
Every time one of my friends or coworkers say they want to learn golf and need tips, I send them straight to Tom. The way he simplifies the swing is incredible.
Sorry, but does this not encourage over the top?
This is hands-down, the greatest, most beneficial video I’ve ever watched on golf in my swing. To say that thinking about throwing versus hitting has changed my swing in just the last hour of practice is an understatement. It’s almost like, this was the one trick that I was missing. And the net result of missing it was horribly erratically inconsistent playing. I just went through two buckets of balls with almost every single ball going where I needed to go. I am so lucky that this video hit my timeline.
Another great lesson from the Master Instructor! Thank you Tom!
Your arms are too long to box with golf.
With driver too?
I started going mini lesson. Worked on my grip yesterday at the range. My biggest problem is no power. My clubs go the same distance, I am so lost where I am going wrong
I just spent two hours at the range today and hit 200 balls, and I finally figured out why I was striping my irons with your system, but couldn’t ever hit my driver clean. I was turning my hands closed on the backswing. I opened up the driver face and started drilling my drives 260 plus. Thank you Tom!
I struggle with WEIGHT LEFT
I’m going to think about “throwing”
I’ve played baseball my entire life (until I was 60) and I NEVER threw off my back foot.
Why do I do that in my golf swing?
Also, I never HIT off my back foot.
Why is my impact position in golf so different than my impact position swinging a baseball bat???
I like the idea of stepping into my downswing, but no one ever does that on the course.
Good stuff (as always), Tom 👍🏻
p.s. I like ice cream 🍨 😋
Love all the videos, my hitting was very inconsistent until I started watching and applying what I learned from your videos! I finally have a simple swing that has improved my game!!! Thanks for all the videos!
I used this concept a lot yesterday at Bear Creek here in AZ. The times I remembered to "throw" I was eating KFC. When I worried too much about "hitting" the ball, I chunked or thinned. Somehow, I broke 100 and 90 all in 1 day all because of everything you've taught in your system and your website. LET'S GO TEAM SAGUTO!
Hi Tom , I am a big follower , the one issue I am still struggling with is I am a natural left handed who plays golf right handed, I struggle to do the one handed drill right handed ,but can do it well left handed .? I am too old to change sides 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Is this for irons and hybrids only or the driver swing as well?
Brilliant Thomas…just brilliant!
Hey Tom, do you have any tips for adjusting the set up for different slopes?
Falong it! 2025
Amazing video Tom. Thank you.
Tom I notice that in your stance you play with feet and toes both flared out do you have a video on this ?
Very good video. I tried it today and had some good success but I need to keeping working on it to perfect it in order to solve my downswing issues.
General question in regard to Stack and Tilt, In the backswing with the takeaway, do we manually dip/force the front shoulder slightly at the ball to get the required tilt and turn?
Or should it happen naturally as we keep on taking the club back. Many thanks.
Yooo bruh your teachings have made my game pop played my best round ever last Sunday. I have to get back to the beach to tee up with ya I lived there for years but wasn't playing golf at the time
73 yrs old and at the range last week. The man next to me asked me if I’d ever heard of Tom Saguto. He could tell that I’d been trying stack and tilt. Turned out he was 93 yrs old and was an avid fan of Tom. Here is my take on S&T. Been playing forever and am never satisfied with my performance. I was raised to let the ball flight teach you. I’ve been known to have a different swing every week. Sometimes I’ll change my swing in the middle of a round. Six years ago I had a right knee replacement. Began to play with S&T. Tried it for a year and went back to the old swings. Reason: lack of trust and confidence. Four years later I decided to give S&T another chance. Here is my best advice……Go All In. Hitting the ball with your shoulders, arms glued to your side, weight on forward leg, left eye over the ball, keep your right wrist locked in the down swing is completely different than what I was doing for decades. Here is the important fact: All of these swing mechanisms HAVE to be done or the swing doesn’t work. And that’s what the problem is. If this swing doesn’t work after a week, most golfers just give up. Hang in there. It works. I’m a ten handicap and am hitting irons better than ever. Here is the biggest PLUS for seniors. If this swing is done right, your body will thank you. No more torque, lower back pain or hurt knees. Good luck and trust.
Recently I am experimenting 2 types of swing thoughts, one is the throw a ball down the line as this video shows, the other is using lead-arm-off chest movement to initiate my down swing (or aka Justin Rose drill).
Both work for me, this is how I feel when swing with these 2 thoughts:
Throw type swing: very intuitive, creates full extension after impact, useful when I am trying to go extra yardage
Justin Rose type swing: Not as intuitive as I need to consciously drop my lead arm to start the downswing. However when I am doing it right the ball is more compressed and easier to control the club face.
Any suggestions on which swing thought to stay with ? Or are there situations that one swing thought is better than the other? Would like to hear your thoughts.
Hey I live in Myrtle beach too! Love the vids they have been very helpful for my swing
Very good lesson. Very practical swing keys. Thank you for not making this more complicated than it needs to be.
https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxz_-UB3oB6qG7BPtKk2vtXG5Mo6uEx67J?si=jhNlcC554M7xYmOx this clip is resonating with me!!!!
Thank you, ONCE AGAIN, Tom!
Hey Tom !!! I’ve been a little chunky lately . Obv some how I’m not getting weight forward . I went to the lab and practiced really focusing on weight forward . I was hitting great . But it seemed like I didn’t have much room . Meaning It felt like I was on top of ball at adress . Like I didn’t have much room . I always appreciate ur feedback . I’ll continue to tell people to go to your channel
Why do you finish with a punch shot finish with a held off release?
So unhinge after ball?
Playing tommorow from the tips. Everyone is going after that brilliant 3 wood attempt. I suspect my 3 and 4 irons will get a great workout… oh, and my chipper😂😂😂.
Practised throwing the ball drill before trying the technique on 9 holes. Knocked 3 shots off my score. It would have been 9 shots if my chipping hadn't let me down! All shots went straight down the middle and helped clear my head of all the things I usually think about. Very liberating. Just need to develop more power but this technique has certainly given me the tools to improve. Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.
Another great video Tom. However, it always confuses me that the 'Precision Impact Trainer Aid' that you have also recommended, keeps the wrist locked even after the impact. Is that training aid only for the Impact position feel ? and should we release the wrist afterwards? Or the ideal movement is that of the training aid which is to keep the trail wrist cupped all the time during downswing and after impact?
Another great video based on a simple concept. This is the way golf instruction should always be. You are the Man !
