  1. Well pleased that Rory won and disappointed poor Rose who played so well shame there can only be one winner but watching our two lads I am so proud to see them1 and 2.

  2. Justin Rose is an absolute gentleman and a Goliath of Golf… ever since The Open, as an Amateur, he has shown his style, class, and sportsmanship.

A great tournament for us Europeans too, in Ryder Cup Year.

…in The States this year too…

  3. This was Justin’s to win, feel for him. I’m probably the only person who thinks Rory is a bit of a pompous guy. Not likeable. Fair play though.

  4. The PGA tour is constantly hyping Rory and Scottie. They got those two guys and a bunch of Korn Ferry guys. 🤣🤣🤣

  5. Its not the trenches in 1916, do me a favour Multi millionaire, corportae robots putting little white balls in holes with sticks.. come on perspective Folks FFS. Well done Rory !!

  6. Feel for Rose, he's finished 2nd three times now and lost in a playoff twice. That's gotta be haunting.

  7. It's striking how golf journalists are unanimous, in saying that when you interview Rory McIlroy — he always gives honest, thoughtful answers. He's the opposite of the modern athlete 'robot', who uses a lot of words but never really says anything — other than what their 'handlers' and 'team' have come up with, for public recitation. In other words: avoid controversy, get through it as fast as possible, and move on. This weekend has shown us what the golf journalists mean: when was the last time, you heard a historically great athlete, say that he was so nervous he couldn't eat, and his legs felt like jelly, and his club (or his bat, or his racquet, or the ball) was shaking in his hands? That's correct: never. My guess is that, in addition to being a naturally curious, thoughtful, and reflective person — the way Rory interacts with the media comes from respecting others, and understanding that like him, they "have a job to do" as well. And THAT, it's my belief, is down to who Rory's parents are, and how they raised him. So "flowers for Rory," as the saying goes — but also congratulations on a job exceptionally well-done, to his parents Mr. and Mrs. McIlroy. Like millions of others, I can't wait to see if the Masters victory "unlocks" Rory — and he goes on a tear. This weekend it's been pointed out that the PGA Championship is being held at Quail Hollow Club — a course where's he's won 4 previous tournaments. And then of course, the Open Championship returns this summer to McIlroy's native Northern Ireland, at Royal Portrush — and who, other than Shane Lowry will know that course, and have played it, as many times as Rory has? Likely no one. So here's hoping that 2025 will be "The Summer of Rory." Good luck, young man!

  8. Rory aged us all 50 years last night watching that 😂 what a roller-coaster he put us through, absolutely delighted for him 🎉

  9. Wow thank god he did it this year, I could not do that again🤯another year of watching this brilliant golfer playing with that much pressure on him he could not breathe…Yes he won with talent but that was just mental fortitude…….fair play to Rosie cracking round..

  10. When rorys daughter holed the 15 ft putt you just knew it had to be the mcilroys family week, and shame on bbc taking the masters off the screens years ago last nights audience would have been massive ,

  11. For those who don't know Justin Rose finished Top Amateur at The Open and then turned Pro. He missed 21 successive cuts. It would have broken many but he didn't give up and look at the career hes had. Hopefully a green jacket still in his future.

  12. I think this win was a momentous achievement given Rory's talent and history, golf is a mental challenge even for a Sunday club golfer, at masters level, every shot is on a knife edge, for a wee lad from N ireland to overcome and control the pressures was truly outstanding, Its as momentous as Alex Honnold free climbing El Capitan, a real how did they do that thing.

  13. I saw some idiot writing in the Guardian say that Rory is now ahead of Faldo and Seve be ayse he has the career slam.

So he has won the least prestigious major twice and we're putting him ahead of guys who have only won the two most prestigious majors.

It's a different level of stupid.

  14. I personally didn’t love his narrative of, “what are we going to talk about next year.” I get it, because he is himself and he problem ingests a lot of media surrounding him. However, golf is much bigger than Rory and he has preached that in contention to the LIV golf model. Regardless, congratulations to the guy.
