His most iconic second shots on the par 5s was hit with that 4 iron?
Looked really good but everyone hated it!
I’ve seen a some of TM staffers use adapters different than retail that change loft by .5 instead of .75. It’s crazy how .25 would make such a difference these guys really are machines
One of the best Masters ever! up & down emotions. Rory's 7 iron on 15 was awesome !
Wasn’t he playing the mini driver brnr as well???
Remember when the manufacturers said creating a tour only ball would cost so much, but players like Rory have almost a full bag of tour only gear.
TaylorMade needs to jump on this and release Rors Proto irons, flamed Spider and Qi35 Dot driver!
Interesting. I have almost the exact same set up in my bag with driver, 3 wood, 5 wood with the same lofts as Rory. Then 4-9 irons. Wedges are all the same loft as Rory's 46, 50, 54 except I have a 58 Degree high lofted wedge. Wedges are Vokeys and the Irons are the Titliest T150. What's my point you say. As you pointed out Rory using his older clubs because he feels more comfortable with them goes to show that even at the pro level having supposedly better and newer equipment doesn't necessarlily mean better results. Even Justin Rose was using the older model Titliest TSR3 in his bag instead of the newer GT3. I read also somone was still using an M2 wood. If pros are slow to change why are we amateurs so quick to upgrade to the latest equipment is my point. Rory over came his hurdle of winning the Grand Slam by working on different parts of his game such as putting and chipping. Also he worked with Bob Rotella on the sports pyschology side of the game. So the lesson should be unless you have very out dated equipment or shafts that do not fit your siwng speed then you can get more improvement using Rory's achievement as an example. That is my take away!!! Thanks for posting this video. Very informative and it demystifies the "pro" game for me!!!!
