In this video, we test and rank the Top 5 Players Distance Irons for 2025 — specifically designed for mid-high handicappers who want the look and feel of a players iron, but with added forgiveness and distance.

We hit every major 2025 release in this category, eliminated the irons that didn’t make the cut, and narrowed it down to the 5 best performers for the average golfer.

🔥 Clubs We Tested:
TaylorMade P790 1:32
PXG Gen7 0311P 4:23
Callaway Apex AI200 9:43
Cobra King Tec X 11:58
Cobra 3DP Tour 15:12
Titleist T200 17:29
Miura IC-602 21:17
Mizuno Pro 245 24:30
Srixon ZXi5 25:11

If you’re shopping for players distance irons this year, watch this first — we saved you hours of research and testing. Some of these impressed us… others were straight-up disappointing.

  1. Just my favorite golf YouTube at the moment. Just average guys reviewing and trying new golf equipment. As a recent golf lover, hard to find a channel to relate to. Keep it going guys!

  2. Good timing on this video. Making up a 2nd set and currently have the ping i530, but need a little more spin. Pro 245 or zxi5 is what im looking at.

  3. Love the content & no hate here, but Trevor that swing is as ugly as a red headed step child. Bro you’ve got to get some lessons, slow it down, & fix that swing path.

  4. ZXi5 are the truth. My last three irons sets have been two Mizunos and Taylormade. 8-9 handicap here and I’m not brand loyal. Got fitted two months ago and hit nine different irons with the ZXi5 on my shortlist already based on research. My goals for new irons were mid-high ball flight with tight dispersion and distance on mishits. The ZXi5 and King Cobra King-Tec were really really similar results but ZXi5 had just a bit better feel.

  5. I knew you guys were picking Srixon, you guys are such Srixon fan boys with balls and clubs!!

  6. When I was getting my fitting, I tried these clubs minus the PXG. I liked the P790's the most, but Titleist and Cobra were really nice feeling clubs.

  7. Do Cleveland halo xl full face not going this category? When im hitting my 5 iron 235 (at sea level) I feel like they are distance irons.

  8. ZXi5 is my dream set based on looks and reputed feel. Not sure that they'll be "the ones" based on Jay at AskGolfNut's exhaustive testing, though.. The toe seems to be the least forgiving area on his club heat maps for both the 4 and 5. Unfortunately, I tend to live more on the toe. I suppose there's always the crazy idea of learning to find the center more often.🤔

Question: On the days you're hitting it well, how would your numbers with the ZXi5 compare with those of the Cleveland?

  9. Well maybe I should get another set of Srixons when the price drops when they bring new one out like ai did with my current ZX5’s.

  10. My only tip would be if your going to take golf seriously like me with lessons and playing twice a week you will only be a 17 plus handicap for a year so investing major cash in improvement irons means buying new irons the following year .

I bought the 101 takomo when I was a 20 handicap and no I am 14 I am fed up with the lack of distance control .

Ok they were only £560 for full set but still
