Paige Spiranac is happy about having a role in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2. Check that, she’s elated.
The 31-year-old model and former NCAA golf champion took to X and shared her reaction to her cameo being included in Netflix’s first official trailer to the 1999 classic.
Spiranac appears near the end of the trailer playing the role of a Dick’s Sporting Goods employee. Se’s closely watching over Sandler’s titular character as he tees off in the golf simulator. After Sandler shows off his golf club swinging prowess, Spiranac joins everyone else with utter shock, after the ball rips through the simulator’s screen. Everyone then bursts into laughter.
“The fact that I’m in the Happy Gilmore 2 movie is actually insane lol,” she tweeted. “[C]heck me out in the trailer!”
Happy Gilmore 2, streaming July 25 on Netflix, features a lot of the original star-studded cast, including Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, Christopher McDonald and Dennis Dugan. Newbies include Spiranac and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny, who plays Sandler’s caddie. Also making appearances are John Daly, Travis Kelce, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Kyle Newachek is directing, with Sandler and Tim Herlihy writing and co-producing.
Spiranac’s addition to the golf comedy is a no-brainer. For starters, she’s not just a golf aficionado. She’s been there, done that. Spiranac played Division I golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State, where she earned All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2012 and 2013. She also helped the Aztecs clinch their first conference championship in 2015. After college, Spiranac attempted to go pro and competed in the LPGA Qualifying Tournament.

Though she did not earn her pro card, Spiranac earned a strong following on social media as a model and golf influencer. She has more than 4 million followers on Instagram; more than 1 million followers on X; and more than 1.6 followers on TikTok.
While she has mastered her golf fit in every video and photo — she appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2024 — Spiranac can also drop knowledge. She joined Golf Magazine in 2018, where she pens a monthly column.
And now, acting.
