Derek currently leads Golf Canada’s National Men’s Amateur and Young Pro Teams and has spent over two decades developing some of Canada’s top golfing talent.
His coaching résumé speaks volumes: his students have combined for multiple PGA Tour wins, including victories by Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, and Adam Svensson, along with success on the Korn Ferry and PGA Tour Canada circuits. His players have made Tour Championship appearances, competed in the Presidents Cup, and consistently shown up on leaderboards around the world.
But what sets Derek apart isn’t just the results—it’s how he gets there. A two-time PGA of Canada Teacher of the Year and a former touring professional himself, Derek coaches from a player’s perspective with a simple but powerful philosophy:
