Here is the final Back 9, on the WORLD’S BEST Disc Golf Practice Round card EVER at New London with Scott Stokely, Sullivan Tipton and Tyler Wozniak (aka The Woz.)
On this round I found out what these guys do, or have accomplished outside of Disc Golf:
Sully just finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Bible Studies this year. CONGRATS on that HUGE accomplishment, Sully! He also has a Pickleball business he is involved in. Who’d have thought?
Tyler actually is a really good cook! Sully mentioned that The Woz is a WIZ in the kitchen. I would not know this because I actually COOKED for Tyler when he stayed with me in Austin for The Open in 2023. I am now going to make HIM cook next time. Lol!
And the international man of mystery, Scott Stokely, is a WRESTLER (WWE level, not greco-roman) in different promotions around the U.S. This was a mind blower for me! He is the walking, talking embodiment of a rolling stone gathers no moss!
We touched upon so many other things on top of the amazing pro-level analysis of how to tackle New London…which I’m so appreciative for these 3 sharing with us all. In addition, take a look at their form and their disc selection. There’s a lot to learn from just watching them off the tee!
I, additionally, learned that Discraft now outright owns DGA. DGA was the first company to promote Disc Golf and was started by Steady Ed Headrick. Ed designed the modern disc golf catcher/basket with his son, Ken. DGA also was the first PDGA organization, before it was officially the PDGA. They wrote the rules, collected dues from members and promoted disc golf around the world. For those that love to grow the sport, this is some interesting stuff! Feel free to do your own research.
