Some of us have been doing this for years. Heavier hammer drives the nail faster, to a point of diminishing results. I currently have 24 grams in my ds ls but I also have weight in the butt end to keep the swing weight at d2. If you want to get serious put 2 10 gram weights in the heel and toe side increase moi and enlarge sweet spot then add 8 grams to the butt. Some people build Fords some build Ferrari's.
I have been playing with 2 drivers in my bag – AI Smoke Triple Diamond Max 9.0 with the weights forward for all out distance, and the Paradym Triple Diamond 10 with the weight back – for some reason i draw this driver- i also have the AI Smoke Mini Driver in the bag 11.5 turned up to 13.5 for control. A great option off the tee and also solid off the deck. My next club is a TM Rocketballz 3 hybrid which is my nostalgia club. A completely illogical set up but it works for me.
5:32 that’s the first time I have seen you put a ball on the right hand side of that fairway, is it because the heavier weights also affect the shaft performance?
This is the kind of golf stuff I love lol just weird silly stuff lol I dont have a need for multiple drivers, but I have thought before about multiple heavier weights in the head.
Adding all that weight could put the moi over the legal limit as well. For example the ping max 10k and qi10 max if you swap the weight for a heavier one they woold be illegal.
It’s a combination of two weights 6 and 7 and so on. What ever two give you your swing weight. Been doing this for years. Not much different than hot melting but at least you can switch it or change it.
Try 2 x 7g to maintain similar swing weights. Also my mate did this to his G410 max driver with 2 weights one on either side of the back weighting, this made it more forgiving across the head. Why not try this with 2x 7g on the fade and draw slots and it would likely be a 10k max head???
Not sure about revolutionary, it’s just a case of using the device to the best of its design. However, with so much weight at the rear perimeter (2x13gram?) it’s surprising the ball didn’t balloon miles in the air.
Standard weight of Callaway Elyte driver head is 193 grams – with the 13 grams weight supplied. It is a well bellow standard Ping driver head which is somewhere between 203 and 212 grams. So even with the additional 13 grams to Elyte draw port it still puts the driver weight within what Ping supplies. I wonder what that additional weight installed to Elyte head does to the distance?
Ordered the 5g weight but will be trying it in the toe. Anyone thinking about an Elyte should absolutely try the Aretera shaft. Aretera has a deal with Callaway on the Elyte and only charge a $100 upgrade (Taylor Made charges $320). I've never had an "upgraded" shaft before….. but this one was much better than the stock shafts.
James, you talked about taking one side of the fairway out, and that’s exactly the opening comments I made to the guy conducting my recent open market fitting – “I don’t want to see the right side.” Having tried all the new kit I ended up with the G440 10.5deg, dialled up to 12deg and with the weight in the draw position. A nice draw which now matches all my other clubs (my standard shot shape) so I don’t have to mess about changing my aim point. Interestingly, I also tried the SFT with the weight in the first draw position, thinking that must be the answer, but it was too much draw and the ball flight was inconsistent. Ping has some magic sauce in their G440 Max head this year, and I for one, love it!👌🏼
I pulled the 16 gram weight from my epic max ls head and put in a 22g weight, same idea really, keep it in the draw setting to help me get that face square

Could you do a vid on lie angles on irons as I’m a bit confused with it all
so a really good old man that sold his soul is a person any one wants to follow
I would like to see if you can get some lighter weights to put in the back and try the test again,

the 460cc head already feels like I'm dragging a boat anchor. I cant imagine making it heavier.
Seems like just moving the center weight over would get the same results with weight

Great idea but dmam that must be heavy
Swing weight must be mental

This is old news James.. I used to use a pxg driver and had the head so heavy. I used to get a smash factor off the scale
Like to try it with the extra weight in the toe to prevent duck hooks. Haven’t you just created a draw bias driver

Definitely think it would be good to try this with the average club golfer as well as JR
Phil has 2 lightweights in the center and toe.
Did you know your driver is leaking?
What’s the swing weight of that driver? E5? Of course it’s hard to move.

A lot of us have been doing this for years….with lead tape….you should try it. 😁
I hate Phil Mickelson Period! Please no more videos mentioning Phil’s name / Thank-You! Cheers 🍻
Keep the heavy head, try a counter balance shaft to bring the swing weight back down.
You guys always Focus on the Head?? The Shaft is the Lever of power & accuracy. Still like the Show.

Couldn't you use lead tape to figure out the best position what would be best for you, use a scale to weight the tape correct .
I pulled the 16 gram weight from my epic max ls head and put in a 22g weight, same idea really, keep it in the draw setting to help me get that face square
Phil uses ping driver 🙈
Maybe Phil has a littlebit shorter driver and had additional weight to fix the swing weight.
