The list of great players who came close but failed to win the Masters makes for painful reading.
Lee Trevino, Greg Norman, Ernie Els, Johnny Miller, Tom Weiskopf and Nick Price are some of the great on the list but only time will tell if Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry end up amongst them or take the chance to slip an arm in the cool lining of that famous green jacket some sunny, Sunday afternoon.
