Legato on sale at $23/dozen plus Costco/Sam's Club budget balls. Urethane balls are options for everyone now.
Nice review. For Kirkland I recommend doing another test in the next 4-5 months as they had some hiccups on initial production or find a Kirkland ball coming from China. As for Member's Mark, comparing it with Vice Pro Zero would be very interesting…
“He’s ba-ack”! Was wonder what these were like for the average swinger! Thanks for the review
Let's gooo
Not a deal breaker use my own alignment maker
Nick, really like the new format for reviews in season 5. Great work!!
Love this. People want to see this type of review, two very common balls that we all want to see. The new Mizuno balls or the new Maxfli line or the new TITELIST balls? Great job, and thank you!
Grocery store showdown 🥊
I do like the MM spin, for the stopping power. I'm hitting each club for a certain distance, it doesn't matter if I need a 6 or a 7 or whatever.
A bad curve cut open ball layers out of wack
Both balls are terrible
Great comparison, Nick. No doubt this new Kirkland ball will do very well in robotic testing this year (MGS/TG) 😂
What is the compression of these balls?
Let's get this straight…. When a golf ball comes from a bourbon company, I just buy them and that is all there is to it. A bourbon company will 100% understand my golf game. I am all in.
Wait…. What? It is Members Mark not Makers Mark?? Ohhhhhhh …. Ok, well, that is not nearly as much fun. Fine, fine I will keep an open mind.
Can you do the Piggly Wiggly golf ball next?!?!?
…April Fools 😂
Always honest and truthful! Great video as usual. I am a little bit upset though because you were able to put and hit golf balls and bare feet. Today in Lansing, Michigan is 26°. There is no way I can be barefoot. Lol.
Even Lazrus is better than Kirkland for scratch golfers. If they want a super cheap urethane
Awesome been looking forward to this! Bought some of the Members Mark balls and really enjoyed them, even in the 30 mph winds I was playing in. I had been playing Vice Tours, but, at $14/dz, I can’t justify playing anything other than these now
For us average golfers, the Kirkland would destroy our game.
Great review, as always, sir!
Love the side-by-side format.
My gosh, Kirkland just cannot get out of their own way. It's astonishing.
Legato hits it out of the park on their first try. And other DTC companies continue to change the landscape for price/performance…and Kirkland has every advantage and blows it again. Just wow.
I thought me finding so many Kirkland balls in the desert was because a lot of people were using them. Now I know the real reason why there are so many K balls in the desert.
Really enjoy the extended / new format. Very concise but detailed as well. The side by side comparison is awesome! You will always be able to find two balls similar enough to do these and give us the facts rather than the blind choices we are prone to make. Thanks. My Kirkland experience was not very good. I played them exclusively in 2023 & the first two months of 2024. Really only played them the beginning of last year to burn what I had left. I was very disappointed. I lost 10 yards on driver / long irons woods and 5+ yards on short irons. The durability, in no uncertain terms, SUCKED! I mean take the ball out of play every three to four holes. I ended up with a shag bag full of the damned things! I also noticed some erratic ball flights that after seeing MGS's breakdown on quality control i understood why every so often one of them would just drop out of the air like it was shot! Really bad. I am not a Sam's Club member so I'm unlikely to try those. My system of Maxfli Tour S in the spring and fall with the standard Maxfli Tour in my bag in the summer meets the demanding Chicago weather changes well for me. As always love the channel and looking forward to more "Ali versus Frazier" 🙂 comp videos! Take care
Great review! Thank you
interesting review, might like to try the MM"s. as for the Kirkland, i have no issue, hit them dead straight. might matter which driver used, i found it pairs well with the PXG 0211 & 0311 XF.
Makers works great for me, flys good
Yay! Officially season 5! Glad to get the Members Mark and Kirkland outta the way. Nice review. I'll gladly stay away from both.
Hey man, just looking out for ya, but you should briefly mention merch every episode just to keep it in people's minds.
I am a “line through the alignment tool” player.
I will never understand the love for Kirkland balls. Year after year they’re shown to perform poorly compared to so many other options. I get it, I’m a Costco member, it’s nice to grab some while you’re shopping…but there’s so many better options for folks out there.
Business tip: Wear shoes.
Sorry, I didn't read all the comments but the Kirklands are the same price as the Members Mark when purchased n store $28.98. The $34.99 is the website price that includes shipping and handling.
Season 5. Episode #1 BANGER!!!
My Costco is selling the Kirkland 2025 v3 for $28 a double dozen for the record
I’ve been playing the Kirkland this year, 18 handicap, I haven’t had my slice be any worse than normal. The durability is horrible but I lose balls often enough that it doesn’t matter. I just can’t beat the value and I shop at Costco and just can’t help myself😂
Good review. Thanks
When I play Kirkland I just dial the driver loft down a bit to reduce the ballooning. works well
Is it a miss or a hit? Cannot be both.
FYI Kirklands are $27.99 in the warehouse. online price includes their 'free' shipping
The Maker's Mark ball out-spins the Kirkland ball by all measures, but somehow the Kirkland ball has WAY more sidespin and you hit balls three fairways over with driver? On a 227 yard drive? C'mon, man. My experience hasn't been anything like that. I'm a five handicap with SS between 110-115.
I've been playing the new Kirkland ball since just before Christmas. The ball plays just as well as any premium ball on the market. It's as long as anything out there. It doesn't spin around the greens as well as a Pro-V1, but it's just fine around the greens as well. Iron shots into the greens are drop and stop though I've sucked some back with short irons. The issue is its durability. I've had to throw a few out of play due to excess wear after a good wedge shot. But that's been a minority of the balls I've played.
The new Kirkland ball is superior to the past iteration in all aspects for guys with higher SS. For guys who need some spin and liked the past ball, they will probably hate this ball. Its performance is that of a premium ball and not a two-piece, surlyn value ball. Go try it. I think you'll find yourself scratching your head at this review afterwards.
I'm looking forward to hitting the Maker's Mark ball. I've read good reviews from higher SS guys on golfwrx.
LOVE the dispersion circles
Thanks for the review of the big box stores golf balls. Think I'll stick with Vice.
Dude nice golf shoes😆
I just stumbled across your review. For starters, do you always hit shots barefoot?!? It's hard to take someone serious. Maybe that's your intent or way to stand out?!? Secondly, your 9-iron iron numbers are vastly different in terms of smash factor. Do you not believe that impacts the numbers? If you want to do comparisons, you need to have consistent shot data. A 1.17 and 1.25 Smash Factor will directly contribute to ball speed, distance, height, and spin. I ran my own comparison on my launch monitor with my 7-iron and have tighter swing data, which clearly put the Member's Mark ball ahead in carry, height, and not as spinny. Clearly you have lots of followers, so you must be doing something right.
I would like to see trufeel vs pro air or the regular maxfli tour not the S or the X. I’m curious to see how the launch, spin, and ball speed numbers compare. In my experience these 3 balls are light years above other lower compression balls in short game check up. Don’t know if it’s due to spin or just a more grabby cover but from 5-30 yrd chips most lower compression balls don’t even come close.
Srixon has a new q star ultispeed. No more regular q star. 85 compression
Great review ! I really love the new format your doing. Keep up the great content !
Amazing how much you dislike kirkland. We all new were going to blame kirkland for your swing. You realize that the good golfers are out there all the time and going through golf balls. Keep trying on your channel its amusing watching you calling yourself a expert on golf balls
