If there’s one thing you should take away from this viral golf course freakout video, it’s that you should never buy a home close to the fairway on a public course regardless of how much you may love to golf, or at least be reasonable enough to know what you’re getting into beforehand. Rick Strom breaks it down. Give us your thoughts in the comments below!

  1. I’m a golfer. If you can’t control your shots enough to keep them on the golf course you shouldn’t play a course that has homes on it. If your shot leaves the course and causes damage you are responsible.

  2. That's Ricks life. Just sitting all alone and drawing out what everybody else should do and how everyone else should act. Just like Joey Swole. I have no idea how this man would behave in a scenario thats outside of standard deviation from the societal norm.

  3. I would never buy a house on a golf course and I golf. Nothing like getting broken windows or being hit while just sitting on your deck.

  4. RICK IS WRONG. HOMEOWNERS SHOULD NOT ASSUME THE RISK OF STRAY BALLS WHEN PURCHASING NEXT TO GOLF COURSES

We occasionally see court decisions where they side with the player. For example, a court may decide that you assume the risk of getting your car dented when parking next to a baseball stadium. This is wrong.

One shouldn't have to assume risks of results that are illegal or patently unfair. It's like saying that you run the risk of getting poisoned when buying home next to a factory. Or you run the risk of getting run over when you walk across an accident-prone street. In all of these cases, you should not have to assume the risk of an action that is illegal. Similarly, a golf course shouldn't be allowed to infringe on the rights of adjacent properties just because it's a golf course. Just think about it. According to Rick, a golf course is allowed to diminish the value of every property around it. It's absurd, especially when you consider that golf courses uses so much space to entertain a small subgroup of the population.

A counter-argument can be made that golf courses wouldn't ever exist with such a requirement because there will always be stray golf balls. Well, this can be mitigated by the fact that golf courses should have a minimum buffer at property lines. They should also pay for all damages from stray balls. This is the fairest way.

  5. Rick, let me tell you why your 2 cents aren't worth a penny. You admit you are a terrible golfer, yet you put people in danger anyway. Instead of the driving range, you take your lack of ability out there and shell a community. Not okay. I live on a course and have had windows smashed and watched the cowards go screeching away in their carts.
Picture a gun shooting range, and my .308 somehow went through your cars grille. How about I just tell you I'm a lousy shot?
No player keeps 100% of their shots on the course, but people should be responsible if they don't.
If you can't consistently keep a ball on a golf course, please don't play.

  6. The golfer is responsible… If not somebody could just go out and have a bad day and just decided to start hurling balls to people's windows. Why would you not make the golfer responsible I don't see how your opinion would be a smart opinion to have LOL

  7. Little Ricky is ignoring the story of the black teen who stabbed the white teen to death at the track meet. I wonder why? Did that white kid of privilege? The black kid is so privileged that you won’t cover the story.

  8. Hey Rick a Real Marxists would not like golf, it is a wastefull elitists game often played by the Wealthy and those who would oppress the less privileged…shame

  9. I work at a golf course. I deal with these old men and punk kids who don’t know golf etiquette every single day

  10. You have a lot of nerve. How did your affairs influence family values. How and what did your children learn from your infidelity? You live in a glass house yet continuously complain when that rock hits ya.

  11. So sick of entitled people moving next to golf courses, race tracks or farms and then complaining about them. You chose to move there. They existed bfore you moved there. You adjust to them

  12. White man owns house right next to golf course and gets mad when a golf ball hits said house……………DEFINITION OF FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!!!!!!🖕🤬🖕
