My Takomo review: https://youtu.be/RFWgEljkblY

In this video Rick Shiels reviews the Cleveland HiBore XL Golf Driver. The driver is aimed at golfers who are wanting to hit the golf ball straight and hit more fairways. The HiBore XL Driver from Cleveland is designed to stop the golf ball slicing and to stop the golf ball hooking.

Does it work and can it lower your golf scores and lower your golf handicap?

Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

  1. Rick why don’t you play 9 holes with clubs like this and the most forgiving clubs in the rest of the bag and see what you shoot!

  2. I honestly like the look, I like the weird drivers. I don’t like everything looking almost the same. I love the ridges on ping, the triangle shape of this, and if anybody remembers the old Adams speed line super s. I like a little change in scenery from time to time. I think with the way tech has progressed, the “standard” has being maxed out, things are going to have to change in bigger ways for us to see real world applicable performance changes

  3. I game this driver now. It came with the same shaft as my TSR2. I'm getting higher ball speeds with the Cleveland. I love this driver.

  4. Rick, it reminds me of my old Titleist 907 D1 driver which was the game improvement option to the D2. Had a slice of pizza look/reverse arrow shape. It was very easy to line up straight. The backside of every other driver besides a Nike Square is some variant of a semi circle.
It was huge but for a high handicappers put me in the right position to swing away. I may go dust it off and take it out to the range. Thanks for the inspiration/persperarion

  5. I love my TD look better but the "uglier" Ai smoke Max is what I play 8/10 days cause it works better for me. Both I can carry 270+ BUT the TD demands more from me in precision to keep the dispersion tight.

  6. This is for weekend hackers who don't care about their equipment. Most hideous thing i ever seen in my life.

  7. I'd like to see a challenge where Rick actual puts clubs in the bag(for part of the season) he has tested but would normally ignore in a personal fitting. Maybe even have 3 options for each clubs and let viewers vote. I am willing to bet that Ricks scores would actually go down using some of these clubs that would help his game.

He starts the video saying he wants to hit more fairways and be straighter. Tests a driver that does that and immediately says its too slow. The wilson driver test 2 month's ago gave you a driver that was both long and accurate.

  8. So you mean you don’t want to actually shoot lower scores? You just want to look like you do? Yeah that’s the problem with the game of golf.

  9. The chip on the back tit of the matte crown before you even swung it tells me everything I need to know about this club.

  10. My father-in-law used a similarity shaped Benross driver at 14 degrees from his late 70s until his early 90s. The only thing he changed was shaft weight and flex. Even at 93, he was able to tonk it about 140 yards. Never missed a fairway. Hopefully I’ll find a wand like his.

  11. It's Not Ugly it's Different. it's no better or worst than any other driver, its better looking than the ping 440 with its fake cardon sticker.

  12. If a LAB DF 1 can help you sink 25% more putts, you'd have it in the bag. Who really cares how it looks. Sound is another matter. No one could stand the Nike Sumo Square driver.

  13. I currently have the Cleveland Halo XL fairway woods in the bag (also with weights in the grip). If the driver is anything as forgiving as those, it'll be brilliant. Love my Cleveland 7 wood in particular and hope the brand starts to gain more popularity again.

  14. I couldn’t care what a club looks like, if it is good for my game then it goes in the bag.

  15. Rocking up with that club or the new Taylormade , ping , callaway driver , I bet over 80% would still pick the big brand named club

  16. Man watching you for years great numbers yardage wise but still complaining finding fairways is what you need cause you said your driving has been good but missing fairways don't understand your rational

  17. The problem is you decide if you like a club before you even swing it. Once you’ve decided it doesn’t matter what they club does how good it is because you’ve already made up your mind

  18. At some point golfers will finally understand that club designers are basically just taking the piss and have been for years
