Tiger Woods sold his stunning £3.1million ($4m) mansion to fellow golfer Bubba Watson, who later managed to sell it for an even higher price. Woods, 49, lived in the impressive Orlando, Florida property, which was the site of his notorious 2009 car crash.

Reports from Los Angeles claimed at the time that the 15-time major champion sold his home to Watson for approximately £1.9m. Watson purchased the island property within the development in 2013, which also came with access to the practice facilities at the exclusive Isleworth Golf and Country Club. And if Woods was already upset about having to sell the gorgeous mansion following his fall from grace in 2009 – which led to him losing several endorsements and a costly divorce from Elin Nordegren – he may well have been further irritated by the amount of money Watson ended up making from it.

The eight-time major champion ended up selling the luxurious mansion for £3.2m in 2016. Despite being initially listed for £4.3m, Watson still managed to make a neat profit of around £1.3m, adding insult to injury for the Woods.

The property offers a massive 8,000 square feet of living space and residents can use the golf and tennis facilities at the country club. For those who prefer indoor activities, the property boasts a game and media room, home theatre, and two-story living room.

The home also includes a spacious office, formal dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and family room.

Residents can enjoy the humid Florida weather by taking a dip in the outdoor pool, rustling up some food in the outdoor kitchen, or watching the sunrise and sunset from the private lake dock.

Yet, for all its breathtaking features, golfing fans will especially remember the home as the place where Woods catastrophically crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant and tree on Thanksgiving evening in 2009 – a pivotal moment that threw Woods’ personal life into the public spotlight.

At that time, Woods lived at the estate with former spouse Elin Nordegren. Following the accident on the property, which caused approximately £2,500 in damages and led to a careless driving citation from the Florida Highway Patrol, news emerged about Woods’ infidelity.

These revelations included an affair with New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel, among other allegations from multiple women. A week after the incident occurred, Woods confessed to his wrongdoings in a statement that read: “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart.

“I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults, and I am far short of perfect.”

Despite his admission, the scandal culminated in a divorce from Nordegren in 2010, with reports suggesting the settlement stood at around a staggering £77.2m.
