If you struggle with chip shots around the green it’s because you have a chipping technique that is too complicated.

Chipping and the short game can be super simple if you follow the 3 step Danny Maude shares in this golf video.

Here’s what you are going to learn

1. The Chipping Set – Up that guarantees strike
2. Really understand the bounce and exactly how to use it.
3. Have a chipping technique that looks after the bounce consistently

ABOUT DANNY

Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

  1. A great easy way to understand chipping, visual of the box makes sense. You keep things simple, keep it up, enjoy all your videos!

  2. You have transformed my game and my enjoyment of golf. If you are ever in Florida I would love to thank you personally. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

  3. This is one of the areas of the game I struggle with!! This lesson with visuals gives a good representation to relate to with correct body motion and position….great lesson!

  4. Love your vidios and your a great communicator, I'm officially part of the , Maude Squad.

  5. Great tips here, I need to focus on some of these basic principles. But one thing I can absolutely vouch for is sticking with 1 club for green side chopping. When I started using my 54, after like 2 rounds of using it exclusively for chips, I noticed a significant improvement. It’s so important to practice the feel of one club for this.

  6. Something clicked this week with chipping so this week's vlog is quite apt. I find using an 8 iron with a putting stroke is saving me shots. I'll try a loftier club this coming week with the same action.

  7. Utterly brilliant! 😁 Thanks for sharing this Danny, hope you’re well.

Video request: is it possible to have a video on the three releases please? I think I understand it but would really value your expert guidance. Thanks again

  8. Great video Danny! Definitely an area of my game I’ve been working on. I like the simplicity of one club and changing ball position. Question: out of the rough it looked like you opened the face some? Will be practicing this in the coming weeks for sure. 🏌🏻‍♂️

  9. Great video! Like the box visualization. One question based on a lie I had Thursday – a pretty severe uphill because I rolled off the back of the green. I used my 56 but wondered if my 46-ish pitching wedge would have given me a loft better suited for the slope. I ended up short because flight was high and I didn’t adjust my speed well. Advice?

  10. Excellent video as always! When I played portions back at 1/2 speed, I noticed you do a very slight forward press at the start of the motion. What is the purpose of this?

  11. Hi Danny, I learned from a PGA pro that teaches short game to Justin Thomas and alike the following, among others: TRY NOT TO MOVE YOUR HIPS DURING BACKSWING when chipping. This prevents you taking the club around the body and helps moving it back more in line with the target line. This helped me a lot. The rest is very much in line with your lesson.

  12. When watching lessons online I used to think weight forward meant moving/leaning body over left foot. I just realized that you can stayed center and feel more weight on lead foot. Can you expand on that topic ?

  13. When i hit the picture in the email it sent me to Liams driver lesson from 2 yrs ago….the bottom link within the email worked though(brought me here)👍🏼✌️

  14. You and Dan G have the absolute best techniques for these short game shots …i only mention Dan G because he really focus on what youre teaching here (release 1) ..and this with am old lesson of yours about keeping hands a bit higher ,toe down club head , are like magic for out of rough chipping.. imo ,or for me , the most important part after toe down a little is turning not swaying at all with very little hand release …keeping the body / chest turning through has helped me immensely! Youre the man 👍🏼✌️🏌️

  15. Thank you for another great lesson, Danny! The graphics are so helpful. I've improved tremendously.🙏🏼❤️

  16. Great instruction. What I saw there and am struggling with is the relaxed downswing. I tend to rush and stab at it.

  17. As I said earlier great video I play at links coarse where the lies are a lot tighter compared to in land coarse is the process still the same and club selection?

  18. This has probably been covered, but what is the approximate max length you suggest this method before moving to more of a pitch? Great video!

  19. Watched this video this morning right before a round and it helped me knock off 10-15 strokes from my typical score
