Jake Knapp is not even through his second full year on the PGA Tour and he already has a win at the 2024 Mexico Open and shot 59 this year at PGA National. His swing is a captivating blend of old-school tempo and modern power. The long, fluid motion evokes a bygone era, yet Knapp generates elite speed that ranks him among the longest hitters on Tour. For a deeper look, we joined him on the range at TPC Scottsdale as he prepped for the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational—a tournament he would go on to win just seven days later. Watch as he works through the bag, sharing his warm-up routine and explaining how he uses training aids to refine his body position and consistently flush it.

  1. Important wisdom at 8:30 and 9:10 especially. I wish people would keep that in mind when they give "universal" advice about the wrists and the feel because it's a little different for everybody.

  2. I was just thinking to myself, I wonder if there's any Knapp range sessions on youtube. Lo and behold, uploaded 5 hours ago.

  3. This was freaking awesome! Just raw, unfiltered thoughts from a tour pro – no interruptions, questions, tangents or conversation. Loved this format – please do more!

Just a small suggestion – putting the trackman numbers on the screen to get a sense of spin, distance, etc. Not sure if it fits with the aesthetic of the video, but would be very interesting.

  4. Insightful, sensual, and borderline erotic. This is THE template. Hope more pros are willing to let TGJ do this over and over!

  5. Maybe I’m seeing things, but that’s the straightest bent arm I’ve ever seen. Not smack talking on it, just trying to find where it’s bent haha. That swing is nasty good

  6. Haha – that's how I use my alignment stick – as a wet cloth holder lol. I cannot hit balls with a dirty club face and can't be bothered bending down to pick it up😮 Go Jake – lovely, on-plane swing..😊

  7. Does anyone know what the training aid Jake uses to keep his head still is called? I’ve never seen it before.

  8. Incredible video. Jake Knapp has completely changed the way I view golf. I was so into the modern “take the hands away” and use your body/big muscles for the past few years. Theres a video where Jake says to trust your hands. Pure tips. So much insight in this video. Aspiring juniors or pros need to study this video. Thank you guys!
