A man has been charged in connection with vandalism at the Ayrshire golf course owned by U.S President Donald Trump.

On Saturday, March 8, Trump Turnberry was targeted by protestors who dug up the greens and painted on buildings in response to the American leader’s comments on Gaza.

Mr Trump said he wanted to move the Palestinian people out of the occupied enclave and redevelop it, which Palestine Action said amounted to ethnic cleansing.

On March 12 a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection, but was released pending further enquiries.

Police Scotland have now said that the man has been charged with alleged damage at the golf course, and will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, March 31.

It comes after two pensioners were arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.

A 75-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were both arrested in Oban on Wednesday, March 26.

Both have since been released and police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
