WASHINGTON – In a quick turnaround, the Georgetown University women’s golf team is back in action this weekend, competing at the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational, created by the ANNIKA Foundation and co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University. The three-day tournament is being held March 28-30 in Aiken, South Carolina on the par-73, 6,425-yard course at Old Barnwell.

The tournament will begin on Friday, March 28, with 18 holes scheduled for each day through Sunday, March 30.

ABOUT THE HOYAS


After a 1-over 73 over the final 18 holes, Georgia Ruffolo tied for third at 3-over 219 (76-70-73) following three rounds of action to be the top Hoya finisher at the City of Oaks Collegiate. She added a trio of birdies and 11 pars for 12 birdies (4/5/3) and 29 pars (8/10/11) over the tournament. For her efforts, she was named the Co-BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week on March 27.
Megan Gormley was the second Hoya on the leaderboard at the tournament hosted by NC State as she tied at 38th with a three-round score of 22-over 238 (80-75-83). For the tournament, she managed a trio of birdies (1/2/0) and 29 pars (9/12/8).
Gabriella Eifrig finished 65th overall at 28-over 244 (80-78-86) following three rounds of action. She recorded a duo of birdies and six pars in the final round for a tournament total of six birdies (0/4/2) and 22 pars (10/6/6).
Catherine Qiu was the third Hoya on the leaderboard, tying for 57th at 26-over 242 (84-75-83). Adding a birdie and nine pars in the third round, she closed the tournament with four birdies (1/2/1) and 26 pars (6/11/9).
Claire Chen, competing in the fifth spot in the lineup, will be making her first appearance of the spring and the second of the season. In her lone appearance in the fall, she tallied one birdie and 28 pars.
Competing as an individual, Tina Tang finished in a tie for 66th place at 29-over 245 (80-79-86). With eight pars on the day, she closes the two-day tournament with two birdies (0/2/0) and 29 pars (12/9/8).

The new 12-team tournament was created by the ANNIKA Foundation in partnership with Old Barnwell and will be co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University at the Aiken, South Carolina golf club.
