Alexi Lalas and David Mosse sit down to share final thoughts on the USMNT’s lackluster weekend at the CONCACAF Nations League, and the importance of Sergiño Dest and Antonee Robinson being available for the national team this summer at Gold Cup. Also during this international window, Argentina handed Brazil their worst World Cup qualifying loss ever. France, Spain, Germany, and Portugal all advanced to the UEFA Nations League semis. Our Americans look to get back in club action in Europe. Weston McKennie and Tim Weah face Genoa under new management, Antonee Robinson and Chris Richards go head-to-head in the FA Cup quarterfinals. On the women’s side, Emma Hayes announced the USWNT roster for their upcoming matches against Brazil.

To wrap the show, Alexi and Mosse discuss USMNT’s second best guy behind Pulisic, USL promotion/relegation, and give an ode to the late Hank Steinbrecher.

  1. Messi make Argentina better with 14 gifted penalties and so manny assists when the team needed confidence. Argentina played for Messi in Copa America 2021 and world cup, with Messi being the best scorer, assister and most man of the match. And now Argentina is the best team in the world even without Messi. Cristiano all carear played just for himself, and didn't motivated his players. Now they are horrible with Cristiano and without him. Btw. Portugal had better overall team then Messi between 2010-2018,and still Messi get Argentina to world cup final in 2014. Plus the value of Portugal team was allmost twice higher then Argentina. Messi was 7 times man of the tournament and won 6 trophies with Argentina. Cristiano just 2. Plus he has 0 man of the tournament with Portugal 😉.

  2. Argentina is a team not individuals…their goalkeeper is better with the ball at his feet than the entire usa back line. The USA for too long has a back line that can not play under pressure forward…

  4. i am also a wired earbud user and my parents are all about the airpods. part of the reason for me is that i have a Samsung phone, but i've not gotten a new one in years because i have the last model that had the aux port to plug in. for me its the convenience of never having to consider their battery life which when i have used wireless headphones they always seem to be low battery when i want to use them and i don't plan ahead. the wired earbuds work whenever i plug them in, no preparation necessary.

  5. Brazil's play was awful. The jogo bonito isn't a disciplined approach for today's game. They need an outsider for a coach that gives them the discipline they lack. Also, this is probably one of the most talented if not the most talented Argentine teams ever, so there's that.

  6. i agree with Alexi on the expanding World Cup 100%. what it means to these nations that are not there year after year is insurmountable. my girlfriend has told me so many times about how Bolivia last qualified to the World Cup in 1994 and she was a child and doesn't have any memories of it. even with the expansion the are on the outside looking in at the moment after being really good at the start. this past window they lost to Peru which seems to have sealed their fate of missing out yet again. for these nations to even be in the World Cup is a dream come true and she was preparing to follow them in the tournament in person had they made it.

the same sentiment towards the WWC in 2023 that was also expanded. there were countries competing for their first time to my knowledge like Ireland who had Katie McCabe score an Olimpico goal which i believe was their first ever WWC goal as a nation. or you had Panama as well in this tournament with Marta Cox launching a rocket of a free kick from something like 25 yards out at the France goal for it to tuck into the top corner for their first ever WWC goal, which btw if you haven't seen the clip of that it is a much watch. France were such heavy favorites and it looked like divine intervention for her to score there, followed by the players all running to her as she fell to the ground. that is what these tournaments are about.
