Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. (WTOC) – As the inaugural TGL season came to a close Tuesday night, the championship-winning putt may have been the biggest moment of the year. The team representing Atlanta, partly owned by Arthur Blank, won the SoFi Cup in a best two-of-three match against New York.
The winning moment for Atlanta Drive Golf Club came on the second-to-last hole when Billy Horschel sunk a double-breaker, securing two points for the team, and giving Atlanta a 4-3 lead. The final hole was tied, so Horschel’s putt ended up being the winner.
Atlanta was comprised of four of golf’s biggest stars – Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, and Billy Horschel. Thomas, Cantlay, and Horschel were the trio who won both championship matches Monday and Tuesday. The team wins $9 million, split evenly among the four golfers.
