Former professional golfer turned social media superstar Paige Spiranac has made plenty of headlines in the past for her risque wardrobe choices in an old-school sport.
“I grew up playing on public golf courses where guys were wearing cut-off jean shorts and tank tops,” Spiranac explained to the Daily Mail. “So when I started posting in tank tops and leggings, it blew people’s minds in golf. It was just the most risqué thing that anyone could be doing.”
“That was my first experience of this whole other world to golf. I always knew it’s more of a stuffy sport but it is changing over time…With golfers, you don’t really have that. You have to connect to that person, and so if they’re not showing their personality online, it is harder to connect.”
Spiranac has no trouble showing her personality online – and turning heads in the process. That was the case on Wednesday afternoon when she started counting down the days until the Masters tees off on April 10.
“Counting down the days until The Masters!” she said in the caption of the post.
Her new photo prompted hundreds of responses from her more than one million followers on the platform.
“Can’t wait! I love Masters week,” one fan said.
“I’ll take a Pimento Cheese Sandwich and a Coke please and thank you,” asked another.
“The greatest of them all…and the masters is good too,” joked a third.
The Masters tees off from Augusta National on April 10.
