I review the new Mizuno Pro S-3 Iron that sits alongside the Mizuno Pro 241 243 and 245 golf irons. This stunning forged golf iron has a blend of the other irons but does it have a place in the line-up? We find out in this video.

Club makes no sense, they created a CB that isn't any more forgiving than the MB and doesn't feel as buttery as an MB. So you're playing an unforgiving CB that doesn't feel as buttery. Just play the 241.
Tbh any iron besides the modern day “micro slot” is probably inferior when balancing accuracy and forgiveness.
Thinking of T100/150, MP 243, Ping i230, P7CB, Cobra Limit3d, etc. They are just so forgiving for how accurate they are with a lot of room to tweak launch and spin
I like the lofts of these. I'm over the incredibly strong lofted clubs, and going back the traditional loft. Great review. Great swing.
Love the way these look and feel. I was actually able to hit them. A little short but felt great
I never understood why they dropped the sc model after mp18 model. I bought the 223s just because I didn’t feel comfortable enough playing straight blades. So, imo there’s definitely a place for them
Any thoughts for the crowd that are hoping these are a modern / premium forged 962B? Similar or is that too wishful?
It actually replaces the JPX Tour.
Stunning irons but probably a tad too good for me – as a 10 handicap I was shocked when being fitted that the Mizunos gave me best performance (mix of distance/control) & that the 243 performed best of the range and that they have ended up in my bag !
Please do a head to head against the jpx 923 tour.
good video! dang Mizuno make some fantastic looking clubs. I play the 223s and love them.
Love the lofts. Same as my old MX-20s. Should pair well with my 50, 54 and 58 degree wedges. I’m sure they feel like butter too when you hit the center. Unfortunately, not for me. Not the same size MX-20. I was able to find the center with the 243 though the Forged 925 are probably a wiser choice. Could not hit the middle of the 245 which was a surprise to me.
Hoping to upgrade soon.
They remind me a lot of my Ping S55 irons. Since I’m due for an upgrade soon, these might be a contender!
It’s a great iron…got to hit it a few times. I game 243s…I like the S-3 better…little thinner and less chunky and thinner sole, which I prefer….as for what it replaces, it replaces the JPX Tour, which is no longer…it’s apparently built on the JPX chassis…my only knock is I wish the blade lengths were shorter in the scoring irons…they are longer than the 243s which I find to be a tad long….as for the rest of Mizuno’s lineup…it’s getting to be a mess. IMHO, I never liked the 243 and its predecessors in the MP lineup between the 241 and 245 which look identical but for size…the 243 should blend with that, or be in a different category all together…
Looks beautiful in the bag, but like a butter knife at address. No thanks
JPX Tour … same spot, same club shape
Love my 243's
You just know when you are fitted to the right set of irons when the ball just goes
Wouldn't have minded trying these but Jpx tour was the current model
As for stronger lofts on the 243 it's enabled me to use a very spiny ball without loss in speed or distance which in turn alongside the decent angle means they stop where you want them to
Four year cycle on these Mizuno say
