GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – Golf season begins around this time of year for many but with the warmer weather, we wanted to know if golfers have been hitting the course earlier.
The golf season is typically March through October for the Redlands Mesa Golf Course with the peak season being in May and September. With the warmer temperatures as of late, golfers have been showing up to the course in larger numbers long before the typical start of golf season. Maxwell Weckerly, Director of Golf at the Redlands Mesa Golf Course, said, ”We’ve definitely been ahead of schedule this year. We are open year-round technically, but usually we don’t start seeing a lot of play until mid-spring. But this year we’ve had big days in January, February, and this March has been a little crazy.”
The golf course had to hire staff quicker than ever before because of the increase in demand.
