Portuguese golf resorts rank in Europe’s top 10

According to Forbes Portugal, This list analyses the ratings given by users on Booking.com to golf courses and their accommodations, which are then weighted by the scores from Leading Courses, with each being worth 50 percent, thus balancing the quality of the courses and the visitor experience.

To be included in this raking, resorts must have a presence on both platforms. Leading Courses is an independent project that seeks to bring together the entire golf community, while being fed by golfers themselves, and is recognised as one of the most prestigious in the world.

Praia D’El Rey Marriot Golf & Beach is the first Portuguese resort in this European list, raking eighth with 9.18 points out of 10, offering two 18-hole golf courses, the Praia D’El Rey Golf Course and the West Cliffs Golf Course. Located on the Silver Coast, next to the town of Óbidos, its position has risen by 24 places compared to 2024.

The recently opened Ombria Algarve was distinguished as the second best golf resort in Portugal, achieving 9.14 points out o 10. Located on the countryside of Loulé, Ombria is a residencial development with a total area of 153 hectares, featuring an 18-hole course that promotes a harmonious balance between its landscape and local communities, with a focus on sustainability.
