Newcastle fan for 30 ofd years now. Never missed a game. My parents 60 odd years, Never seen us win anything. From doom and gloom, relegation battle after relegation battle. We can now celebrate. I’ve never experienced happiness like it. It’s euphoric. I can’t stop watching the highlights.
My dad passed not long after the defeat at Wembley 2 years ago. He was heartbroken. So I can only imagine how happy he would have been if he was still here.
We bleed black and white, apart from our families this club means everything, if you walk through Newcastle city centre on a Tuesday without a matches being on, you will see hundreds of people wearing the badge. That cup was like the World Cup and more. I never cry, but I cried when the first goal went in, never mind the full time whistle.
