00:00 John McGinn wants to be a Scottish football legend
Ahead of Scotland’s meeting with Greece in the first leg of their Nations League qualifier, John McGinn says that reaching the heights of the likes of Denis Law and Kenny Dalglish is certainly something within his grasp.
“It is definitely a motivation to be amongst those names.
I like to wind Ally McCoist up a wee bit about it when I see him.
Obviously, if I had to choose the team winning over me scoring, I obviously still would.
But I sort of have it in the back of my mind—it’s something that I think is achievable.”
00:40 George Hirst Scotland call up
Scotland assistant manager John Carver says that Ipswich Town frontman George Hirst can certainly add something different to the current squad.
“He’s very similar to his dad.
He’s robust, he’s big, he’s strong, he’s good in the air.
So he has ability, and he can compete.
You know, if you look at the other strikers we have available—like I say, different.”
01:10 Gordon Parks on Cerny soaking Celtic fans with water
And finally, on The Journals show this week, freelance football writer Gordon Parks believes that the way the Rangers squad celebrated at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon isn’t something that authorities should be looking into.
“Just another chapter of a Celtic-Rangers game where they managed to find something out of the ordinary.
Of course, it was—listen, high jinks, a moment of euphoria, right?
I get it.
Overreaction?
Of course, it is.
Will it go anywhere?
I don’t think so.
Should it go anywhere?
Definitely not.”
