Tiger Woods’ former partner Elin Nordegren was reportedly taken by surprise upon hearing about his purported romance with Vanessa Trump. Woods and Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., are said to have been an item since November last year and were recently seen at the Genesis Invitational.
Fifteen-time major champion Woods’ romantic connection is thought to have sparked due to their close living quarters in the Palm Beach area of Florida. At California’s Torrey Pines during last month’s PGA Tour event, Woods and Trump were spotted arriving together. Trump also brought her daughter Kai to witness a round of TGL – a league co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy – at the SoFi Center of Palm Beach State College. Despite a tumultuous history, Woods has two children with Nordegren: Sam and Charlie. The couple, who divorced in 2010 after six years of marriage, maintain a friendly relationship – nevertheless, Nordegren was reportedly astonished by the revelation that Woods is involved with Trump.
The Mail cites a source claiming Nordegren initially found humour in the situation when Woods allegedly phoned to inform her of his new relationship. The source stated: “Her response at first was like, ‘Seriously? A Trump? For real?’ She was more amused than anything. But she really quickly just accepted it.
“They’re not the type to give each other their blessing per se, but they keep each other in the loop with anyone who is going to spend any amount of time around the kids. Elin isn’t one to react to things emotionally. So she just processed the information and wished them well.”
In March 2018, Vanessa Trump initiated an uncontested divorce from Donald Trump Jr. in New York. Post-divorce, she has maintained a low profile relationship-wise, though pairing up with Woods would certainly create buzz as a golf powerhouse couple, reports the Mirror US.
Earlier this month, Woods, who enjoys a rapport with U.S. President Donald Trump, encountered a setback in Florida. As he was gearing up for his return, he experienced a “sharp pain” in his left heel, later identified as a torn Achilles.
The 49-year-old golfer confirmed the situation on social media, stating: “As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured.
“This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon. ‘The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,’ added Dr. Stucken. I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”
