In this episode of the Golf Lovers United podcast, Golf Lover UK and Pro Golf Critic delve into various topics surrounding the current state of global professional golf, including the recent events at @LIVGolf Singapore (won by @FireballsGC and Joaquin Niemann) and The Players (won by Rory McIlroy). They discuss how these events tie into the upcoming potential seismic changes in the sport.
They discuss the impact of the golf media on player sentiments, like Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa and their frustrations with the media. They also dive into the chemistry within LIV and @TGL teams, and the contrasting experiences of watching prestigious tournaments like The Players Championship that have lost their luster over the last few years.
The conversation also highlights listener engagement through course rankings and personal anecdotes: Please leave in the comments your Top 3 Courses you’ve played and Top 3 you want to play!
In this conversation, the hosts discuss Rory McIlroy’s controversial reaction to a young fan’s comment, the pressures faced by professional golfers, and the importance of mental toughness in the sport. They also explore the impact of technology on golf, the current state of @PGATOUR & LIV Golf and the performances of various players on both tours.

hi
Ben and Jay do we see a swedish team in a Japanese team next year
Top 5 I've played, number 1 by a long way is Turnberry, 2 Valderrama, 3 Western Gales, 4 PGA Catalunya, 5 Walton Heath. Best experience Old course, I could go on with numerous more links courses like Ballybunion and Portemarnock etc but I wanted a variety in the list.
Rory limped over the line, he blew a 3 shot lead and then shot plus 1 in the playoff, it was definitely not a Masters winning showing.
The Australian open should be a major, definitely not the players.
Want to play, (taking out Augusta) 1 Royal Melbourne 2 Muirfield 3 Torrey Pines
Rory doesn't care about 40% of the people on his own tour, just listen to what he says every week.
Tgl has been even worse then i imagined
Best 3 played, toughie, Muirfield, Turnberry, Las Colinas, want to play, Royal Melbourne Valderrama Torrey Pines. Both categories could change daily, 😂 I’m just short of 500 courses worldwide, so, lots to choose from.
Top 3 played- Muirfield, Royal County Down, Dornoch.
Top 3 want to play, Royal Melbourne, Machrihanish Turnburry
I’ll take a guess at your PGA tour insider: Billy Foster
Top 3 played.
Halifax – seriously 👍
La Finca
Las Ramblas – immense fun.
(I’ve played Hoylake but it doesn’t get in my top 3)
3 I’d like to play
Hillside (walked it with Jamie in a junior comp – the back nine is one of the best return runs in the game)
Pedrena (huge Seve fan)
JCB – conditionally with the youth who would love to play it.
Hope my small monthly donation is reaching you guys and not getting stuffed under a mattress in Huddersfield somewhere 👍😂
Long live LIV
Jay and Ben who is the Big FootJoy / Ping player other Tyrell hatton Daniel Brown Stixton Ping Jt Olsen
enjoyed the show guys. I still go back to when Zinger made the comment about how he felt his time on PAC was a waste! I caddied on tour mid 90's (part time as my main gig was building and remodeling courses). I remember listened to all the griping back then on how the PGAT ran things. I predicted a HUGE shake up in golf around 18 years ago…did not know what it would look like…..and was surprised it took so long. BUT HERE WE ARE!!! Like you, I will NOT name anyone, but I am still friends with a couple guys carrying on both PGAT and LIV. I've attended 5 LIV so far here in the states and got to chat with several players as well as a couple caddies. Even bumped into Greg out checking Rich Harvest Farms one morning. We chatted for a few minutes about the venue and set up….never really got into LIV itself…..ha ha. (just two old course builders chatting) (was first time to actually meet him, but of course he knew many of the course architects I had worked with, so we had some common ground)
