Fresh off a phone call with Ukranian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday, President Donald Trump may be packing his bags and readying for a trip to New York City to celebrate his son’s birthday.
It could lay out a busy weekend in New York City and New Jersey for Trump as son Barron Trump celebrates his big day leading into his spring break at New York University, where he’s a freshman. A round or two of golf to kick off the spring season at his Bedminster golf resort — where he hasn’t been since summer 2024 — could round out the weekend festivities for the president.
Here’s the day-by-day timeline of what we know about Trump’s potential plans beginning on Thursday, March 20 and headed into the weekend.

Trump Tower NYC; will Trump visit Barron Trump?
A Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team notice from this week shows “VIP movement” for New York City on March 20. While it does not state Trump specifically, “VIP” is often an indication that a plane will be carrying either the president, the vice president or other public figures designated by the White House, according to FAA guidelines.
If so, it is likely Trump will head to his Midtown Manhattan home at Trump Tower, which is roughly a 12-minute car ride from LaGuardia Airport, where it is possible his Air Force One may arrive.
How old is Barron Trump?
Barron Trump is the only child of Donald Trump and Melania Trump, and the youngest child among Trump’s five children. He has largely been kept out of the spotlight, only occasionally appearing at major events.
He grew up in the Trump family home at Trump Tower and attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, before graduating from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida in 2024.
Trump, who will be celebrating his 19th birthday on Thursday, March 20, last appeared in public for his father’s Inauguration Day events in January.
Where does Barron Trump go to college? NYU spring break
Barron Trump attends New York University Stern School of Business, where he is a freshman.
The college will be on spring break from Monday, March 24, through Friday, March 28. It’s not clear if the teen has any regularly scheduled classes at NYU on Thursday or Friday of this week. While not attending classes, Barron Trump reportedly has forgone a freshman dorm room and stays in Trump Tower.
Is Trump in New Jersey?
Trump may head to the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster in Somerset County on Friday, according to an FAA Safety Team notice, indicating “VIP movement” at Morristown Municipal Airport and Bedminster on March 21. The alert aligns with other presidential notifications from the FAA.
The early alert — no official temporary flight restriction was in place as of Wednesday afternoon — shows the movement extending through March 23.
When was the last time Trump was in NJ?
It would be Trump’s first known visit to New Jersey since July 14, 2024, the day after he survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He purposely avoided his New Jersey home during the winter due to the purported drone sightings across the Garden State.
The Trump National Golf Club is located in Bedminster in Somerset County, roughly 40 miles west of Trump Tower. The township is 27 square miles and had a population of just over 8,100 in 2023, according to U.S. Census data.
Trump purchased the 520-acre property for roughly $35 million in 2002 and developed it into a two 18-hole championship course with a 1939 Georgian Revival clubhouse, an Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis and paddle facilities, and rooms for overnight stays. It is also host to several top golf tournaments, including the 2023 LIV Golf Invitational Series.
During his first term, Trump spent a considerable amount of time at Bedminster, and its often referred to as his “Summer White House,” often used from springtime through September.
