Jason Day withdrew from The Players Championship on Thursday morning, just before the start of first round competition, citing illness.Jacksonville resident Danny Walker took Day’s place in the 144-man field.
A former No. 1 in the World Golf Ranking, Day has won the Players in 2016 and also won the PGA Championship in 2015.
