The greens were a bit wet this day so short game ran a bit slow. It was a round of not knowing where the ball would go!

I’m Chip, a golfer with a short backswing now playing off a 12.2 handicap. But holding the club more in the fingers helps the backswing!

Hi! My name is Chip. I am a Filipino-American who loves playing golf. I’m here to give you tips and advice on everything golf. Additionally, I will give you a beautiful golf viewing experience narrated in the Tagalog language (Philippines). I hope to someday become a stratch golfer and become fluent in Tagalog. I started this channel in 2024 as a project to practice my Tagalog while doing something I enjoy, golf. When I launched my channel, my golf handicap was 20.0 and my Tagalog skill level was 2 out 10.   1. Your hands, especially your right hand, are way too involved in your swing. Try practicing at the range with just your left hand holding the club. Your back swing is also much too low which will cause unpredictability in ball direction. You might also work on tempo because you have a short back swing and you snap into your down swing. That will mess up the timing of your body and hands causing more problems. Work on getting to the top of your back swing (however far back that is for you) and pause for 2 seconds, then literally let your hands drop from the back swing and as they drop, you'll feel your body start to uncoil and pull your hands around. Practice this slow at first and add speed as you get the feeling "programmed" of dropping your hands. The golf swing isn't about forcing the club into the ball, it's about letting the club move through the ball to your finishing position.
