Legendary Hall of Fame Golf Teacher Ben Doyle explains the big illusion in golf which plagues every golfer. This is a condensed video of Ben’s work after years of studying and teaching The Golfing Machine by Homer Kelley. If you’re serious about your golf this is a must watch.

I worked with Ben for 6 years and learned much from him. This information perfectly aligns with what Ben taught, what I learned from my current coach, Joe Daniels, PGA, GSED and what The Golfing Machine says about impact. Reference Chapter 2-J-2, fourth paragraph, for what Mr. Kelley said about impact. The DST Hand Position Indicator line helps me to apply what Mr. Kelley wrote and what Joe and Ben told me about my hands at impact. It's the best training aid I've ever used. Thanks, Bertie!!
I see new DST video, I click and watch …several times.
I would love for the impact line to be in my set of clubs.
Nah that's just the secret to super blocks.
Chuck Cook was really into this.
I don’t think so.
If you want shaft lean at impact with only irons, learn to hit on the trail side. 99.9999 golfers don't know this idea of hitting on the trail side of your body. This mean hit golf club with your right side of your body and legs for righty golfers. This delays your club and arms just enough to deloft the club at impact. Got to AMG (Athletic Motion Golf) and search for hitting with trail side.
Ok… am I correct in assuming that the hands remain cocked (fixed) from the take away untill the ball is actually struck, with the hands, arms, and torso together? And after the ball is struck, the hands uncock along with a raised arms follow through?
Clickbait title but I’ll bite.
As 90 % of players do not have forward shaft lead and flipping as stated in this movie , where are all the divots come from in our fairways ?
Excellent presentation and well demonstrated thank you Ben were I to be critical I would add more emphasis on the rotation of the body at impact while trying to keep the arms on the target line as long as possible similar to an ice hockey slap shot.
The only fix is not just bringing the hands forward but also how to turn the body from the ground. The timing of this difficult but fundamental too
When the hands are ahead of the club head, the face can be controlled… the secret
I am going to save the misery of a lot of people now, go to AMG golf on YouTube and watch "tour shaft lean secret no one is telling you" and you can debunk this yourself with hopefully a clearer mind and choose if you wanna spend time in the hamsterwheel or not. I have tried this for years, it does NOT work, only in short swing drills, you see any full swings?? No, this video should be called "hot to block and master the hoselrocket"
About time this information got out to the new generation of players! Solid gold 💰
I thought this was very old news.
I took a series of lessons from Lynn Blake some years ago and he teaches exactly all this. Quickest way for me to have learned about hands forward was that mop analogy and would have us hitting 1/4 pitches with a 6 iron for the first half hour of each day. He was a superb instructor…very technical but excellent.
Hi how would your hands be positioned at impact whilst using the driver ,thanks for the video it were extremely useful for me
Curious….how far forward is the ball in this gentlemans stance as he plays an iron…..maybe it's the camera angle but he is pitching with a ball placement that of a driver. Am I wrong?
Yes but as he states its not about the arms releasing past the ball, its an illusion caused by good body action, i tried a dst compressor and found it easy, now i know why! ive swung a yard of thick rope like he shows for years, got me down to 5 hcp so it works!
this is a great video and possibly one of the best golf video's ever… as i was watching the instruction I couldn't help but think about those guys behind on the practice range should also watch this video 😄
No disrespect but why not just start & finish same place at impact? A la single plane set up
No sound biomechanical reason to have hands set up with midline only to have to adjust later in swing
US OPEN here I come ❤
this is a good video, when Homer Kelley and Ben Doyle and the golfing machine speak, people like me listen. I've had the book for about 50 years and couldn't grasp the whole thing but there's a lot on YouTube and some other books on the subject that have helped me understand some of it. golf is a big part of my life and thnx for the info.
The diagram in this video will also teach you how to fly a rocket to the moon.

Old memories for me there at the Quail Lodge course in Carmel. Ben was shall we say an interesting soul and if you could decipher what he was stating you left better for it. My chipping and pitching sessions with him gave me an extraordinary short game and helped me become later a PGA Hall of fame teacher myself. Good Stuff
If we dress at impact position, ok? Easier?

What is the angle of the DST line on the club?
Does this apply to Fairway metals and driver? Or just irons?
Arms passive body is active, the arms are the worse in the golf swing, even he say use the pivot ,
What are your opinions on adjustable loft and lie drivers and how does that change the impact line?
