If you are struggling with consistent ball striking then this is the drill for you!

1. Go to the top of your backswing
2. Drop your hands to your hip
3. Rotate and strike the golf ball

This golf drill benefits you by putting your golf club on a great swing plane and hitting the ball from the inside. It’s especially good to practice if you come down steep and hit slices or pulls or just struggle with making centre-face contact!

I hope this tip helps!

  1. Isn't this a control shot? We want to keep hinging and focus on the impact. If we want to hit further, we should rotate the wrists. Am I right?

  2. This is how it’s done. Shallows the club and squares the face without effort from your hands and wrists taking an active roll. There are many ways to swing the club but this is the simplest most widely used technique.

  3. This is what I’ve been using for a week or so now. I’ve seen much improvement, very good tip

  4. Wow…i see this as good tips…its been a while i have never been golfing but this is golden. You gotta hit hundreds of balls to put that sequence in your muscle memory.

  5. 25 years of a messed up swing, i first watched ernie els explain this idea and golf stopped being a war with myself and became fun

  6. Or put yourself into the impact position and just short hits you can do this drill all day and still can't hit the damn ball for one he's swinging on a two plane so if you dont know the difference between one plane and two plane you're not going to hit the ball

  7. Thanks. Totally improved my relationship. Step 1: Take it to the top.
Step 2: Take it to the hips. Step 3: Rotate!!

  8. To anyone interested its called a "plane shift". Even a "one plane" swing needs to do this! This game is so confusing and when you figure something out it seems so obvious.
    Great video!

  9. I don't have this problem I'm a lower handicap, but when I was younger my coach used to tell me to feel like my right elbow was going to jab me in my side on the down swing. 😂
