Putting everything out eliminates issues
Only scrubs play "gimmies" why not just putt it out and play the game? Even if people offer me a "gimmie" I never take it.

I always put out just so i can have an accurate handicap. Ill NEVER tell anyone else to pick it up/putt it out. If you wanna pick up, cool, idgaf about your score or game. Im just out there enjoying the round.

Lots of golf purists commenting. However nothing more aggravating then the foursome in front of you putting out everything during the 5-6 hrs round on a weekend. After three putts pick up the damn ball and try next hole.

I love how divided this comment section is between gimmes and no gimmes. It’s like politics for golf. Such strong opinions on both sides.
I personally hate them. The whole point of golf is to hit the ball into the hole, so picking it up before you get there just invalidates the whole game. Just play the game how you’re supposed to! And that goes for people who can’t hit their ball from the fairway or rough without propping up the lie too. Your score just isn’t a score anymore when you do that.

A gimme to me is less than 6 inches from the hole
If it’s competition, putt it out. If it’s a friendly game, opponent can say pick it up. That helps speed up the game.
We give putts but that's a Trump gimme.But if the people you are with agree?Then it's just a friendly,enjoy the day of golf.
