  1. Hey brother.
Great review. I just got the MacGregor MT Pro “Blade” style clubs and the tour grind wedges from them. I did the purchase because of your honest and straight forward review of the cavity back MacGregor style irons a while back. I appreciate you and all you do in your videos. Keep up the grind brother. I have been with you since the start and will be with you the whole way.
    Jay.

  2. I was literally just talking to sub70 about this exact set and was hoping you’d do a review soon! I even said it to the owner and he said you had a set and it should come soon that was 4 hours ago lmao! I hit the first version and liked them but my irons were still doing good and didn’t see the need to change! Now 2 years later my irons are a little worn and I don’t feel like spending 1800$ on a set of Callaway tcb’s when I can get exactly what I want from them for 800 less

  3. Thank you, AJ for this review. Would really like to hear your comparison of the Sub70 to the MacGregor MT-Milled to the Avoda irons that you were recently fit for and any other DTC forged irons you have tried. Thanks in advance.

  4. Andrew I have a similar problem as you with my irons I have a bunch of speed 100 mph 7 iron average on trackman but have an eye mini like you so a lil more on that but I find it hard for my short irons to spin as high as I’d like…. It’s a common theme throughout my bag… because of your review I purchased these but wonder what you would do to add spin? Would you just change balls I play the pro V1-x and have played the Tiger ball before and it does spin quite a bit more… I’ve always played x-100’s since high school golf and in my D-1 years at Saint Mary’s… Idk id love to hear your opinion… I launch it plenty high when I want to and have never had an issue stopping it before unless I’m at spyglass in the summer and there rocked out and like glass but I think everyone has that problem then

  5. Great review. I’ve been eyeing the TAiii cavity backs. I’m a 13 handicap and I’m looking for clubs to grow into as my game has gotten better and these look like the ones I’m probably go to buy but before that they have a demo program where you can try them out. Sub70 is the gold standard when it comes to DTC golf clubs.

  6. I own the V1 s and absolutely love them. We’ll probably be updating to these as a new sub 70 loyalist.

  7. I've been a Sub70 player for several years now. Currently gaming the TAIII OGs, with the TC in the 5 and 6 iron. The 659 CBs are superb as well. Like you said, their custom options of shafts, grips, and ferrules are second to none, and their customer service is the best in the business. Thanks for doing this review!

  8. Unfortunately for me, I was 70 years old on New Year's Eve so, I am no longer Sub 70. They look fantastic clubs and the quality is definitely there.

  9. This sounds crazy, but they feel so good because they are not mass assembled crap like the big brands. The build quality is better than the OEM.
Every big brand ive ordered in the past had something wrong with them, lofts were wrong, length was wrong, swing weight all over the place.
Sub 70 was the first set of irons ive owned where everything was what it was supposed to be.

  10. Love sub 70. Customer for life. I have the 659 tc irons and JB wedges. Will replace woods and driver with the new versions maybe next season

  11. I play the 639cb irons. They’re from the previous generation of Sub70 irons, but I love them so much. Amazing brand, quality stuff.

  12. These irons look awesome! Think ordering a set with a 4 iron is worth it if I have an adjustable 3 hybrid…? Hit my 5 iron around 225-230 yards. Have a 4 iron in my current set, but I don't find I use it a ton… Definitely helpful sometimes, but probably could do without it? I don't know haha

  13. How would you compare the new TA cb’s to the new 669 tc’s? Can’t decide between the two 😅
