I’ve never seen anyone put the tape on in that way B4
I totally agree about how great ribbed grips are. It’s always a nervous moment replacing grips 😮
Man and machine still in perfect harmony!! That club will follow you to your coffin in many years time!
I find seeing a pro repairing/ rebuilding clubs fascinating……..however I also wonder how much of golf is in the mind? Probably because I am a mere mortal who just enjoys being out playing and I know at my age it’s all for fun and not consistency.
Another great explanatory video Dan
G’Day Dan, 16 minute video of me yelling no , no no, no no at the screen. All good mate. 😅
Back to back days 👌
I do my own grips because pros generally use white spirit and it smells for a while after, they charge far too much for the grips and they take far too long. I use 2 inch tape and I used to use grip solvent that doesn't smell at all but now a friend of mine has an air gun. No knives required, no grip solvent either but I do change the tape. A grip takes on and new one on in less than a minute and can play almost straight away. Some of the old ways are great but golf repairs etc have evolved for the better. I liked your video for some it will save a lot of money👍
My issue with ribbed grips is that for me I do manipulate flight by opening and closing the face especially in the shorter irons and thus in turn moves the rib around and out of the correct place which irritates the life out of me.. I have used golf price midsize tour wraps for probably 20odd years but am considering a change.. the big issue with this is the cost if the grips you get aren’t right.. 👍
I love my plus 4 grips. Makes so much sense. Howe many other bat/rackets sports have tapered gripping areas where the bottom is thinner than the top. I would go for tapered but not on my adjustable clubs as they may change settings as I get older sad to say. Cracking vid Dan.
Get them on for France lad
Just had my 9 iron re gripped with the mid size. It helps with my arthritis in my fingers. The rest of the bag awaits.
I am hoping they brint the new Align Max out in the Tour Velvet as well, I am surprised they didn't have those from the start since they have then in the regular Align.
Like you my 5 wood is my go to club , am not tinkering with it 😂
Interesting idea & I saw Robert Rock advocating these grips – would the nice people at GolfPride do them without the dreadful red colours..?
Interesting grip, I wonder if someone who likes to practice a lot would find that rib causing blisters in places they don't normally get them? I was also expecting Dan to look at the grip after cutting it , then look at the camera with a worried look and say " what have I done" lol.
I like that you put the tape on that way that's the way I have done it for years
I used the same grips you had on before but midsize on my old bats, I might try these when my new bats need some new grips Dan, nice video cheers
Great video!
Another very informative video, Dan.
I was using Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 Standard grips with three layers of tape.
I used three layers partly for feel and partly because I have some arthritis in my hands.
My fitter suggested going to Midsize with one layer of tape to simplify the fitting of the grip and for more consistency in the thickness.
12 months in and I am happy with the results.
Great video. I always start wrapping the tape from the bottom. I also really like the plus 4 grips.
Had the midsize +4 fitted on my made to measure driver ok when first installed but when I come to alter the head the red line at the back is not in the middle I think these are great grips but not for moveable headed clubs 👍
Great video Dan. I haven’t tried ribbed grips, but want to. Would never DIY though as I’d be sure to cock it up 🤦🏻♂️😂
