Scottie Scheffler will be the man to beat at this year’s PGA Player’s Championship tournament at TPC Sawgrass as he attempts his third victory in a row on the elite course. The Players will run between March 13 – 16 and will feature some of the PGA’s top-ranked players, including Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele who, along with Scheffler, will be grouped together for Thursday and Friday’s tee times at the competition where only 144 other top-ranked players are eligible to attend. (Of those who are eligible, four players will not be in attendance: Ernie Els, Alex Noren, Brendon Todd and Tiger Woods.)

What is the PGA Players Championship?
The PGA Players Championship is an annual event sponsored by the Professional Golfer’s Association and in an invitation-only tournament featuring highest ranked players on the PGA Tour. The first place winner receives a purse of $4.5 million in the 2025 Players Championship, and the tournament has a total purse of $25 million.
