OK hear me out… You could play a rule whereby if you hit Elisha's ball, she plays it from wherever it lands BUT if she hits YOUR ball on her next stroke, she doesn't count that stroke. And vice versa. But only if you hit on the very next stroke, it's not just a freebie anytime your ball gets hit. I have no clue if that makes any sense, I explained it horribly.
