As spring gets back into swing, more golf courses are opening up for the season, including the Cedar Rapids Twin Pines Golf Course.
The course is reopening Tuesday along with its putt-putt course, Mini Pines.
Golf leadership said the ground is still too wet, so the driving range is closed and golf carts are unavailable to rent out right now.
Golfers said its still nice to get back outside instead of using indoor simulators.
“Golf’s been really strong for the last three or four years, and even with no carts, we’ve still got a full tee sheet,” Twin Pines PGA Professional Steve Charters said. “So that’s a really good sign. I think people are ready to go.”
Leaders remind golfers to check the weather before playing, and checking online to see if there’s any restrictions (no carts, driving range closed, etc).
Annual passes are available to purchase online or by stopping at the clubhouse located off 42nd Street NE.
