ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Its crazy cause you're swing is so much better than mine so if this is an issue for you I'm sure I have 20 others prior to getting to this
I’ve been waiting for this video. You do a great job taking what Pete teaches and explaining it and making it easier to understand. I’ve been working on that drill for a couple weeks and my irons have been much better but I’ve lost the driver. Going to use this to recalibrate and can’t wait for the next one!
Phenomenal..i think this could be your best video.thanks.
When I restrict my turn I've noticed my shots a lot better, but I never focused on it.
Good stuff Danny 👍
which club was this? a 5i?
Perfect, this is what I've been working on at the mo. It explains a lot of things I've been feeling and what I like about this drill is it shows me how to add athleticism into the swing. Cheers, Danny!
Hi Danny, Thanks for the refresher lesson, your version of what Pete showed you. I haven't hit a bad shot since doing this drill.
Wow. What a fantastic drill and so clearly explained! I watched your video with Pete Cowan and thought I understood it at the time but your explanation really helped me to feel it. I can already feel a more solid and consistent strike with my driver. I knew that I was sometimes turning my left hip too much causing inconsistent strike but didn't really know how to fix it until your video. Such a subtle movement that has such a big influence on consistent strike. Pure gold Danny!
So it looks like you are doing a "hip bump" forward before the rotation kicks in?
I think this transition is the hardest part of the swing. Thank you Danny
Great video, lovely drill to stop the right leg/hip going outward to the ball. Really useful for me, thanks.
Great video, so important detail, they say keep your back aiming at the target as long as possible, this is why
I never have a "good" shot or "ball strike" if I allow myself to move my hips. I figure that if I try to keep my base steady and sturdy and keep my head still, they may be moving but I have to discipline myself with keeping my eyes on the ball during the swing. If I pay attention to my hip movement in the swing, I usually duff the ball… hitting behind the ball or topping it.
Thanks so much for simplifying . I thought this idea had merit in your original video with Pete but couldn’t fathom how to do it😅.
Very helpful Dani however, if I may add to that, what we’re doing is having the trail leg pulled off the ground by the lead leg and what I’ve done to facilitate that is keep the right toe up against the shoe. Therefore, the right leg is not overactive again it’s pulled off the ground.
Great timing! My coach pointed this problem with my swing out to me yesterday. It’s tougher than it looks. I like how you repeatedly used the word “subtle”. If you’re not filming your swing it’s going to be tough to make sure it’s correct. Fine tuning is the hardest!
I watched the Pete video and have already been implementing it in , my consistency has already improved, this video helps again with the extra visuals, looking forward to the driver video
Between the Kack-hand grip and this drill with alignment stick, there is allot of hope for this year on the course!! Thank you for adding more clarity to the drill!!
Brilliant video Danny
Danny..this is great but..back to you and Pete I think that it's much easier to make this move if you first lock your feet in the ground which then naturally creates tension below the right knee which then drives more stability in the back swing….perhaps a video on feet 😜
Danny, I follow you and Russell (Heritage) and I notice you both demostrate with a closed stance. My question is do you align your hips and shoulders with your feet or parallel to the target line? I love this lesson BTW and is consistent with one of my major thoughts: not to move into the space between me and the ball.
As always, Danny, you get to the essence of the lesson. I saw the video lesson with Pete Cowen and knew you'd send a lesson that would be easy to follow and grasp and resonate. Thanks, again!

I have been trying to do this after your first video and was dismayed to find that i was dragging my driver and 3wood left. So no3 is vital to unferstanding and implementing this.
Great video Danny. I discover about a month ago that I was lifting the trail heel too soon and getting up on my toe midway through the downswing. I started to focus on starting the downswing by keeping the pressure on the inside arch/ball of my trail foot and letting it actually roll a bit to the inside until it eventually lifts up naturally. This created a natural hip bump to the left and the club drops right into the slot on the way down and greatly reduced the over—the-top move. Wow! What a difference in ball striking. This seems to mimic the move you are trying to create with pressure against the alignment stick. Am I on the right path? Are the two moves complimentary?
Just fantastic drill from Pete and now I get it from your demo. Thanks Danny.
Let's freaking go 😎🏌️
This is great Danny, and is consistent with a lot of other teachers that say use the left leg to push the left hip out of the way. CAN you also do a piece on what Peter Cowen means by 'spinning the right forearm down"? I don't understand the feeling or movement he is trying to convey with that term and I am sure there are many others that fall into the same boat.
I’m looking forward to trying this. The one thing that I struggle with especially with my Driver is pushing my trail hip out too much in the downswing, causing me to early extend. It would appear that this drill may help with that?
Well done Danny just been out playing this morning lovely day for golf ⛳️ 😊
