I never realised that choosing the right/wrong tee could be so detrimental to my drives, and to be honest I would never have chosen the tee that ultimately made a huge difference to my performance. With the help of Trackman I found was able to realise I had been playing the wrong tee height for many years…..don’t make the same mistake.

  1. I can see the height of the tee making a difference for your swing, but the type of tee has nothing to do with distance.

  2. What a very interesting test and results. It would be very interesting if you do a test, using your swing speed, with a variety of compression rated golf balls. I have seen tests done but they have been at the high end of swing speeds. Thanks.

  3. With a 44 in shaft and a 12 degree head, you're basically hitting a 3 wood so im not surprised teeing it down is giving you the best launch conditions. I'd love to see you do the test with a typical driver to see if it's your swing or the club make up that is matching up with that little tee. Love the channel!

  4. I've used this 'castle' type tee for decades, in my younger days a yellow tee with my persimmon driver! When the era of bigger metal drivers came along I switched to white, pink and then yellow as the club head became bigger. Now in my later years I've switched to a 13 degree driver and dropped down to a pink tee. Only this week I've tried a brand of these new assymetric tees with a direction arrow that claim to reduce spin and with a need to align 10 degrees backward from vertical! Ironically I shot my 2 lowest competition scores in 12 months with my tee shots on form. When I used a 3 wood (15 degrees) not currently in my bag, I used a red tee so perhaps I need to try a yellow tee with my 13 degree driver. Thanks for posting this video.

  5. I knew that he was using the 12° because it’s what I use so this thing is certainly caught my eye. It’s March 5, 2025 in Michigan and the golf season isn’t gonna begin until the end of April pretty much and I’m starting to get out to the range more frequently and I’ll definitely try some of the lower tease because I too have a 12° driver and maybe I’ve been using a T that’s too high because it is about halfway above the club face.Great food for thought. Thanks again.

  6. pxg secret weapon, yellow tee height, 10 years older and in my late 50's now= same ball flight and distance as my 10.5 degree full size driver I was hitting in my 40's!🏌⛳

  7. This is worth trying out, so I will do that. Consistency is a goal worth training for, so thank you for bringing tee hight up as one more element to the puzzle of great drives 🙂 By the way, for anyone who has a moderate swing speed, I bought a Newton Motion shaft for my GT2 driver, and it has given me more length and accuracy than the shaft I was fitted into … after trying 6 different shaft options this is clearly a winner, for me and my swing.

  8. Interesting! I have already started to reduce the size of the tee as I had poor control of my balls going very high and your video seems to confirm my thoughts 😉

  9. This could be the answer to those hundreds of yellow castle tees I’ve got in the garage which previously appeared no use for anything 😂

  10. I had to go up from pink to orange and take the club back a few inches. Many ways to skin a cat, I am awful with driver, probably 5 shots to shave off the handicap as a consequence, getting the tee right for 3 wood which I hit so much better is probably of more interest😄

  11. Interesting to test a few options. Wouldn't have thought it made that much difference so will be keen to find out

  12. A test that everyone should do. It all comes down to the way the player delivers the club. For example, do you increase/decrease the dynamic loft of your club on delivery? The length of the shaft, loft and the particular driver that player uses. Do you have the correct shaft for the way you load the club?. Other creators have done tests on drivers and what part of the face is hotter and gets better results. Drivers from a year or two ago were hotter the higher you hit it on the face (Callaway). Might have been a manufacturer design at the time, because everyone was "tee it high-let it fly", now everyone is moving the "hot zone" down, to get better results the lower on the face that you hit it. Get fit people. While doing so, try different tee heights, you'd be surprised at the results. Great video!

  13. I used to think tee it high to let it fly. I was wrong tended to pop up balls. now ballis just a hair higher than face- much better,
