  1. Strange that Lord Sugar, as a businessman, can't understand why someone would take an opportunity that made good economic and sporting business sense. Plus he obviously didn't want to be a loser all his life at Spurs.

  2. Even though Campbell betrayed the fans, Sugar was a stupid and imbecilic chairman. He treated people like scum and was not an honourable person, everything was about money to him and didn't care about anything but himself. So he deserved what Campbell did to him, but not the fans. David Dein on the other hand was a good chairman, loved by all. Polar opposites.

  3. Vialli went to Chelsea on a Bosman in 1996 ffs, it was hardly a new concept by the time the Campbell saga began to unfold.

  4. Law of transfer in football must be changed it’s not fair to the clubs that’s pay 100s of millions with huge salaries for 4 to 5 years of contracts and the players wait for end the contract and going on free transfer to other clubs for much more higher salary. This is very unfair to the clubs that paid huge amounts of money for their players to sign and loses with nothing is really bad. It’s must be changed.

  5. Im not concerned that he went up the road..he was very successful and that is fair enough …other players have done the same
But his legacy as a Tottenham player is always going tarnished and in my humble opinion.. the word JUDAS IS FITTING

  6. 'we werent going to cut our nose off to spite our face'

no, you had no leverage, you were and still are a small club and cant compete with the appeal of a big club like Arsenal. Keep pretending though, whatever helps you sleep 👍

  7. Barcelona sent an executive to negotiate with the player and the club. This vicepresident, after one hour of conversation with Campbell, made a call to Spain very upset. More or less, he came to say "This guy is out of his mind, for one hour he has been talking ONLY about the cars the club would have at his disposition in Barcelona. No way we sign this player". Not offer (official or not) was made.

By the way, the Spanish journalist in the video, Guillem Balagué, is well known in Spain for adding glimmer to his stories. It's really funny that English media think he is an expert in Spanish football, when he has been living in UK for decades. The best info about La Liga in English belongs to Sid Lowe. In fact, he has a better understanding than most of local pundits and journalists. And speaks a perfect Spanish, much better than my English

  8. The man just has no ethics or morals. He must also be extremely stupid, as he seems to think Spurs should treat him as a Legend. If he ever walked out at WHL to meet the crowd, he would be lynched. Not only is he a traitor but he manipulated the situation to rob the club that developed him of any fee. Just not a very nice or trustworthy man. He try's to claim that he hasn't got jobs because of his colour, it is not that, that you just cannot trust him and probably think he is not very intelligent because of all this. His few jobs prove this i think.

  9. Moral of the story is value and respect your players and they will show the same back. Alan sugar tried to shaft Sol Campbell by not backing him when he was falesly accused of assault. He tried to use the incident to control Sol cambell and get him to sign a poor contract. Anyone worth their salt would have left Spurs the way Sol did.

  10. He should have been honest & said I want to leave & they could have got some money for him.
Instead he pretended to want to stay, so he could go on the free.

  11. 23:05 "It's not about whether you do it right or wrong, it's about whether you do what people want you to do"

Actually it sounds like you did both, joined the rival team in the most underhanded way possible 😂

  12. He should have been honest from the start he knew he was leaving spurs fans had him on a pedestal he misjudged spurs fans devotion handled poorly and arsenal met with him when he was still in contract with spurs apparently
