For every golf teacher that promotes a short thumb, there is one that promotes a long thumb. Is the thumb a pressure point of any kind?
Baseball players hinge and unhinge their wrists swinging a bat with a bigger diameter. Are they magic?
Todd, you have such a grest way of conveying your tips. Dare i say, "thumbs up"? All the best. Jeff from Toronto.
Ohio – excellent and practical advise – and I can practice it indoors even – at least the hinging part. 🙂
Great clip Todd as always. You are the best. I was a bit distracted though by the poor guy in the background practicing full, long range bunker shots. I was expecting Nick to pause the video to ask you to walk over to that guy and ask him just how many long range bunker shots does he actually hit during a typical round that would necessitate him practicing.
Thanks for the tips Todd. South Carolina here
👏👏👍💪💯
You made a point of not being able to hinge the club with Brad's strong grip, but you didn't show that the long thumb wouldn't allow you to hinge. I'm convinced to try the short thumb grip, however, so I won't have the club too much in my palm. I will definitely give it a try at my next range session here in Virginia Beach, VA.
Decent information. Video could have been in 40 seconds —- NOT over 3 minutes…wasted a lot of time….too much talking…too much superfluous information… make videos concise.
Great info, could have taken 2 minutes

I am 77 and played scratch golf for much of my life and was always grateful that I was given what was known as the Vardon grip… Used by Hogan and Snead. But there are a whole bunch of players out there on the tour who use The long thumb today with an interlocking grip. However, you get the power from the body and the shoulders not the wrists and hands. The short thumb made the game easier in my opinion.

I am 69 years old from Guadalajara, México. This morning I saw your video and went to play in my golf course and from mid ninetys I did 76
