Would you game a club like this?
After finding a bunker and taking 3 to get out this weekend I'd defo game it. Normally I'm OK out bunkers but this was and awful day lol
I am confident that this club would not help me much. Need to see someone who genuinely struggkes out of the bunker try this club and see lots if shots out of different lies. Unedited not sekected highlights as we see on those ads selling the latest greatest whatever
What if you just purchased a 64 degree wedge?
Nice!
I love my ChipR, and this looks like my Ping Eye2 lob wedge on steroids. I can’t wait for the DrivR and PuttR to come out. 😉
It's really just a 64deg wedge. I've been playing a vokey one for years. Yeah it's great to use
I have the Tour Edge equivalent at 60*. Let's just say I get out of the sand 'most' times in one stroke, fa better than I ever used to.
Seems this would be great for deep fluffy sand or deep rough with soft turf.
Am shore that club face design is not new .😮
My bunker game was average to good , then I got my hands on a Callaway PM grind lob wedge with the sort of two lots of bounce, now my opponents groan when I miss in a bunker as I'm more likely to make it than anything else, I notice this club looks similar
Replace the 60. For emergency
Hi Mark – very interesting – there's a lot of loft and a lot of bounce there!
Questions: Can you hit full shots with this and how does that go? What about 3/4 shots and short punches from fairway and rough?
£184 😵💫ridiculous
Would like to see a comparison between the BunkR and the Cleveland Smartsole.
I played junior golf in California then college golf in Oregon, out west we have always had great bunkers. Rarely does a bunker worry me.
My buddy Brad already shows up with 16 clubs in his bag, this club should be #17 😂
While not exclusively designed for bunkers, this is why I prefer something like a 62 or 64 degree wedge when around the greens because it allows me to not have to be delicate! I can do a stronger swing that feels more natural and I don't have to worry about flying the green, without having to open the face.
Bunkers don't scare me.
I know that someone not good out of bunkers should probably avoid a 60 degree wedge anyway, but this would have to take that club's place. At a certain point, if the player gets better, they may want to move to a regular 60 to be able to hit more and different shots. I will say that I like the unique sole on it, and the finish is nice.
I personally wouldnt but I instantly thought about my aging dad who would benefit a ton from a club like this…. next Christmas it might just happen.
Always been a Ping player and if I didn’t love my 4 Vokeys I’d buy this club. Great review!
About 5 years ago I tried my friend's C3i wedge @ 64°. I ended up buying one and get out of the bunker every time.
If sand was always the same type and depth then I would not consider one. but because it’s not I put the Cleveland sand club in my bag but I might give that one a try
Love it and will probably buy it
how would you compare this to Cleveland Smartsole?
This club is a direct copy of the Skylob Wedge. In fact the Skylob is a better design due to it's 70 deg lie angle. In a bunker or 30 metres and in the Skylob is my go to club and it's 1/2 the price of the Ping. Something to think about. You can even go cheaper with a Pro FX 64 Wedge for $35.00. They all work just fine.
i wonder how drastic handicaps could drop if people removed their least lofted iron and put this in the bag.
I want to see it out of fluffy, dry, deep sand.
How good is my bunker play? Well, I am confident I can get out of the bunker, but where I'm going is always a guess. This club seems worth taking a look at. It's great to see your enthusiasm when testing this. Maybe I can have as much fun with it as you did.
R U setting up square on all these shots ?
I enjoy the Callaway PM grind because it seems to do so well in the bunker. You don't need to open it up. This club reminds me of that
My wife hates these reviews! I end up buying the clubs 😂😂 And they do work!!
