My opinionated list of the 50 best contributors that have shaped the sports history of the Metroplex from a non-playing capacity. Those behind the scenes, on the sidelines, on the dugout, inside a broadcasting booth, or outside the playing lines are just as important to the success of a team as those inside. Sometimes, they are just as known and as iconic as the players themselves. For 45 of the 50 contributors, one video is featured that profiles their journey or accomplishments in DFW in some way. For the other 5, a brief 20-second portion summarizes their key accomplishments. From Daryl Reaugh to Tom Landry, to Ron Washington to Donnie Nelson, there has been no shortage of contributors in this great sports region over the last 65 years, and these first 35 people have made significant contributions to the history of DFW sports between our four major pro teams (with six exceptions) over the last seven decades.
