– Jack Hughes scored the only goal for the NJ Devils in this game.
– Former Devils goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood looked good against the Devils again, stopping 22 of 23 shots.
– This was an absolutely gutting loss for the New Jersey Devils.

Allen is absolute trash. How does this dipshit coach put him out there after a Daws shutout last game? Makes no sense in the slightest. The team is ass and will be swept in the first round come playoffs.
It’s crazy, I can’t remember the offense struggling this bad since Zajac and Henrique were big pieces in our top 6
I don’t get how fitz fixed our 2 biggest issues last year goaltending and D, now our biggest issue is our offense.

Gotta be honest. I've given up on this team. It's not just the record. They play with absolutely no grit or fire. Keefe has been a disappointment and Fitzgerald is a dolt.
The question is not if we are better or worse with or without timo
.but if we would be better with a player that makes equal amount of money. And i do actually think yes we would be better with another +- 9 mio player that actually can play with hughes on the side

devils played bad but holy cow avalanche are on a way different level, you can tell every player on avs has bought in and they were winning that game no matter what, devils were just there cause they had to be there for work , mackinnon is so dam awesome

This team needs to start playing with more care and stop getting complacent. Even if we get ahead of Carolina in the standings, we're not getting past them in the first round since this team is too inconsistent, and Keefe always gets outcoached in the first round.
Inconsistent team. Still. They lack confidence. Quite a few totally invisible players. Really frustrating to watch.
Still not a fan of Jake Allen. He can be great for a period or two. And then he's completely beatable. That feels like his whole career. Watching him lose track of the puck TWICE … sheesh
A trade might help. In fact it might be necessary.
And, btw, I feel like the Toronto teams under Keefe sometimes had offensive problems rather than defensive problems in the playoffs and it looked a lot like this.

Timo's one of our best players. Period. He's one of the few forwards we have who can carve out space in the slot. His effort is good night in and night out and you can't say that about many on this team. And, you are right, Ace, Timo should be playing on the right side. I don't care who that forces to play out of position. We need RW Timo. And, Keefe has been disappointing overall. He's normalized slow starts and uninspired play.
Three games left on the road trip and they still have to do this without Markstrom. Next game is Saturday night in Utah.
Don't say I didn't warn you this team is going nowhere because I did warn you all. Better team than 22/23!? Yeah!😂 That team had something that this team doesn't. On of the best B6 in the NHL. Players that were good on the dot, players who could give you 10-15 goals each and even 20. That bottom 6 had size, speed and tenacity. That bottom 6 was probably top-6 in the entire League. It just happened that Carolina's B6 was even better. The current B6 is rock bottom in the NHL. I told you that last season. The discrepancy between B3 in 22/23 and this year is even larger. B3-B6 is what makes a team great, what makes a team a contender. How many times I said that? Hom many times I told that Fitzgerald is the worst GM in the NHL. To destroy 22/23 bottom 6 in one summer you've got to have some talent. I am not even talking about hiw he's been in denial of abig skillful Centre need for years. Terrible GM, terrible team, and terrible blind fans who allowed this crap to go on for years! Enjoy!!!

Going into this season I had high hopes. I thought maybe they could be a serious cup contender. Now, we are just trying to hold on to seek into the playoffs. I liked the moves fitz made in the offseason to make this team hemv. They started out that way this season but that is a distant memory. The team has gone back to their old ways”too soft”. The 22/23 season that got our hopes up seems to be no more than just a fluke. Not totally giving up hope but my expectations are nowhere near where they were going into the season.
Really need to bolster the bottom six ASAP.
Honestly, it is really demoralizing to see the team struggle and the management doing nothing. This situation has been well-known for two months, and I just don't get it, losing cultures start from the top. Btw for someone who is relatively new to hockey how is the GM selected?
I think this is the part of the season where Fitz needs to go and earn his money. Fingers crossed.
I’m expecting a new bottom 6 line up, hopefully someone or ones to play alongside Jack and a new GM if this season comes to an end in April. Keefe gets one more season. Might as well get rid of MacDermid since they neutered him after the Florida games.

How did we become 1 dimensional? How is it possible that EVERY forward that produced under previous coach has regressed this year under Keefe. We keep blaming players but they couldn't all have forgotten how to play. Funny how as soon as guys depart this team they get better elsewhere. Has happened to almost every player except Holtz. I think the lack of consistency with line combos has hurt this team and its becoming evident that coaching might be the issue. We have players that have been 15-25 goal scorers throughout there careers and cant buy a goal this year. I think we make the playoffs but lose in 1st round again. I do have 1 question for you Ace, you keep saying the Top 3 or 4 arent getting traded no matter what. So how exactly are we going to acquire top 6 talent? Reality is the current young players arent going to get us back star veteran talent. I would love to hear your strategy if Hughes Inc. isn't going anywhere how do we add the missing pieces?

Ace, why do we have to wait until the deadline to make a trade? Isnt it obvious that we need a few pieces? Isn't it obvious that we needed a 4th line faceoff center since we lost McCloud? Wasn't it obvious we needed a goalie last year? This will be another throw away season because Fitzgerald either is completely incompetent or is a puppet for management, or both!

This is really horrible the brand the hockey this team plays now going on 2 months of garbage… if u look at the way the devils played lastnight the did deserve did lose 5-1 they got severly outplayed for most of that game the worst part is they play like they dont even care no fight no big hits to get the boys going nothing just going thru the motions.. this schedule is brutal by the time we get back to nj we could b out of that 3rd spot and i wouldnt be suprised. I cant belive were going thru another year of this these guys arent kids anymore its unacceptable
Well Ace, i guess it was a good idea to go right to sleep before the 3rd period ended. anyway it was a rough loss and probably the roughest lost on the season since we need the points badly now that the rangers and the jackets are literally at our doorstep. if we lose to Utah, I hope fitz gets his head out of his ass and starts making some calls to other teams before the deadline, because we are on thin ice and fighting for a playoff spot and fighting for second place in the division. and i hope he does something before its to late and we miss the deadline. anyway lets put this game behind us and move onto another back to back vs the hockey club and Vegas and hopefully the can win both or one or the other. LGD!!!!!

Everybody has that one person they want they think will fix everything. Some of them may help, but I’m getting a lot of the same feeling I did last year when Fitz sat on his ass, and did nothing, and when he finally did, it was underwhelming. 2 seasons ago we almost had the longest win streak in the NHL. The strategy of wait until the last minute would make sense if you are trying to land a superstar from a playoff hopeless team, but he’s most likely not with our cap space. A good GM should be able to make things happen. You don’t let the issue persist, and then scramble to do some last minute band aid. Idiot owners will probably give him another year.
