Interestingly, hardly any Japanese fans are complaining about the result. Most think Higa won most of the first half of the bout, but Tsutsumi won all after 9R. At the beginning of 8R, even Tsutsumi's chief trainer told his boxer that he must win all the subsequent rounds. Next round, he said “you must knock him down.” And he did it.
I thought Higa won 1, 3-5, 7, 8, and Tstsumi won 2, 6, 9-12, so it was a draw.
Getting 3 wins stolen from you and still being world champion proves how badass Tsutusmi is. He's definitely battled his way to the top with no handouts. Him beating Takuma was not in the cards.
