Brute strength and technical prowess defined the career of David Smith, better known to wrestling fans as the British Bulldog, Davey Boy Smith. Standing 5’11” and weighing a chiseled 260 pounds, Smith brought an unmatched combination of power and agility to professional wrestling that revolutionized the industry. From his humble beginnings in Golborne, Lancashire, England to becoming one of the most beloved international superstars in World Wrestling Federation history.
Witness Smith’s transformation from a teenage phenom alongside his cousin Dynamite Kid in Stampede Wrestling to WWF superstar under the mentorship of the Hart family. His classic encounters with Bret Hart, Owen Hart, and Shawn Michaels showcased not just his incredible strength, but his surprising technical ability and aerial prowess rarely seen in powerhouses. The legendary Intercontinental Championship match against Bret Hart at SummerSlam ’92 in Wembley Stadium stands as testament to his ability to deliver emotionally charged performances on the grandest stage, bringing his homeland audience to a frenzy.
But perhaps most compelling was his complex relationship with the Hart family, from tag team glory with the Dynamite Kid as The British Bulldogs to family feuds and reconciliations that blurred the line between storyline and reality. Tragically, like many of his contemporaries, Smith’s life was cut short at just 39 years old in 2002. This is more than just the story of the British Bulldog – it’s an examination of international wrestling stardom, family legacy in the business, and the physical toll of a career built on superhuman feats of strength.

He was the best of all.
"And in 2002, at just 39 years old, the Bulldog's heart would give out from years of abuse"
The AI voice saying that makes it sound positive almost. 😮
Dinabol and Creatinine…..
All done!
Sad, really…
Had a great match with Bret in England!!!
Jimmy Ocean sure looks like Stan Hanson
You really blew it in this intro you told a brief story of the bulldog and then you said that he died you kind of ruined the whole story so your video sucks.
Instead of watching this video, I already know what happens so what’s the fucking point? I’m definitely not going to like or subscribe you’re really blew it buddy.
Rest in peace Davey.
I walked past him one time when he was with Stampede wrestling and I was taller than him but he was twice/three times my size
He and Dave were almost supernaturally talented, doing stuff as children that was way beyond what most adults at the top level have done. Then they were innovative figures in the business, creatively blending styles from all the countries they wrestled in. Some of the top guys in WWE say they were the best there ever were. But already in Canada they started to feel pressure that athletic ability wasn't enough, that especially being short they needed to get bigger for the look. And when they came to work for peak roid-fetish Vince Jr., forget about it. They were so young but their best days were already behind them, and their story in WWE was one of decline. They're called Performance Enhancing Drugs but for these athletic phenoms they were performance inhibiting drugs. People said to their face in WWE that they were already too big, that they were the greatest of all time before they got to NY but they were now slower and less athletic. But they really felt insecure about their size, that they had to get huge to get anywhere. And the sad thing is they were probably right.
Steroids killed him.
The secret is not getting to the top , its remembering what it took to get there in order to stay there ! You make it , then you lose focus ! Steroids made fortunes for these guys , and like the devil who asks for your soul , its time to pay the " Piper " ! They are playing poker with their lives and Casinos don't lose ! Vince McMahon did not become a billionaire because he cared about his wrestlers , their health , or their dignity ! He shits on peoples heads , so much for his character ? These are good men we are losing , they followed that carrot and the stick hit them hard ?
AI voice… move on
Sean, Michaels Vince, Russo, Eric, Bischoff and Vince McMahon should rot in hell for what they’ve done to people
