Last week, In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, introduced you to the young and intense Cincinnati Bengals offensive line coach Scott Peters. Peters explained how he was ready to take the Bengals’ offensive line to new levels with his coaching style.

Another young and intense coach on the Bengals staff is newly hired defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, who brings a wealth of NFL experience to the Bengals and the intensity fans will love to see.

If you liked what Coach Peters had to say, you’d love even more what Coach Montgomery says about his coaching style and how he’s looking to revamp the Bengal’s defense under new defensive coordinator Al Golden.

  1. I'm telling you, I thought these new couches were a bad decision to hire. Just typical bengals bargain shopping, But after listening to this, I changed my mind. New England just put a quality coaching staff together, just to give up on them after one year. All of us in Cincinnati are going to reap the benefits of their bad choices. This guy is awesome.

  2. Get him the players he needs. Welcome, Coach Montgomery . Our interior D line needs at least 3 pistons and a carburetor. OK, 4 pistons. The man looks like he could play. Trey Hendrickson's, Kung Fu is the best. Who Dey All Dey.

  3. After all this hype on the new D coaches… and everyone acting like it's fixed… what's the answer gonna be if we start slow yet again…0-2 or 0-3…. will this Brown family front office ever accept ANY blame for being unwilling to sign top tier talent???
Burrow can't play D… we need at least 2 top tier players on pass D… We currently have NONE!!! the young guys here are NOT the guys…
Britt is a bit of a dumpster fire at times

  4. These two coaches "know" how do all these amazing things together..but havent done anything impressive and represent loosing teams.
CHEAP!! Is what screams to me at this point.

  5. I am not sure in my thinking as soft tissue injuries can set you back but I have seen the level of toughness diminish after the Oklahoma Drill has been eliminated but maybe a modified version if it is in order. Health going into the season is important but the balance between that and more high intensity prep is something to consider. But I think we would have won the Pats game if Joe was fully recovered from his wrist injury and very possibly the Ravens game as well..

  6. I do believe we drafted Two good young Defensive Tackles last year but I do still believe we need One More!!! This draft has a lot of DT’s so we can kind of pick what we’re looking for after free agency!!! Would love to get a REAL DT in Free Agency and I believe that’s very doable IF and that’s a big IF, we get CREATIVELY AGGRESSIVE Going After that PIECE on the board!!! A Championship isn’t going to be HANDED to you, You have to GO MAKE YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP Become Reality!!! Go MAKE IT REALITY 😊😊😊

  7. Good interview but still confused. When u hear "run game coordinator" its unclear whether this means the job Frank had…or is he coordinator of the run defense? It would be odd for him to be in both rooms but thats never been clarified seen it reported both ways. HELP?

  8. Well hopefully he does better than last year. I'm not too keen on Scott Peters and him. We don't have much talent on our lines either, maybe some that needs developing. But so did the patriots!

  9. The thing is everyone is hating. If we can even give our offense a top 18 defense we win 12 to 13 games. Like if our defense just does the fundamentals we win one or 2 more games. As long as our front office doesn’t just crap the bed on this off season we’re gonna be alright next year.
