The Most Honest Golf Club Review You’ll Ever See – Sorry Wilson DYNAPWR Drivers

Wilson DYNAPWR Drivers Review – Shocking or Just Another Club?

The Wilson DYNAPWR drivers are here, but do they belong in the conversation about the best golf drivers or the worst golf drivers? In this review, I put the Wilson DYNAPWR driver lineup, including the Carbon, LS, and Max, to the test. Are they game-changers, or have Wilson just thrown in every bit of tech possible without true innovation?

From performance to sound, feel, and, most surprisingly, price – I break it all down. Do these drivers compete with the biggest brands, or do they fall into the worst golf drivers category? Find out if they deserve a spot among the best golf drivers or if you should look elsewhere.

  1. Personally i think if people realise where Wilson are in the market at the moment, they'll see that they are worth a punt and the quality/performance is worth a go.
Plus any brand that doesn't have a yearly release these days is always a bonus

  2. Love this video. Manufacturers are just making the same thing. They need to make a short driver that is weighted properly. That isn’t available on the market and would help the most golfers. I don’t understand how they haven’t done this yet.

  3. I think some are caught between a rock and a hard place. If you undercut on price you’re seen as “cheap” as in, undesirable. If you try to join the big brands, people think you’re overcharging. (And the resale argument is spot on). Personally I think they should be £389. Enough for people after seeing reviews like yours to know they’re getting a quality product at a good price. £449 and I’m saving for another week or two and getting a Titleist.

  4. Maybe it is just as good as other brands, in fact I’m sure it is, but Wilson should know they’re not a top brand. This seems like such a wasted opportunity to sell a story that you have a club that’s just as good as the top brands for less money. I don’t see anyone buying this club unless they’re already a Wilson person

  5. Wilson simply can't win, their product is as good as all the other manufacturers, but if they price it at 299 or in that range then people just assume it's not as good. If they price it up then it's 'too expensive' despite being as good as other clubs at that price.

  6. 23 handicap slow swing speed. I have a 2016 M2. On a good hit I can just reach the fence at the back of the local range. I just bought a 2023 Stealth 2. Guess what – on a good hit I can just reach the fence at the back of the local range. 7 years on, not noticeably different in terms of distance, forgiveness, launch angle. I agree with other comments, driver tech has maxed out. Buy good quality 2nd hand kit and use the difference for lessons

  7. (sigh) another good club from Wilson, sadly to be overlooked.
The Staff irons are excellent, but for whatever reason the woods don't have the shelf appeal of other brands.

  8. I don't get this Wilson bullshit, so faldo, langer, vj, padraig, John daly, Palmer, gene sarazen, Payne to name but a handful, yet Wilson gets treated like some start up, when I started playing golf ping eye2 and Wilson staff goose necks were the club's everyone wanted, I currently still use d7 forged and I've tried new clubs but cannot find anything better, I think Wilson deserves to charge a premium don't you!!!!! And at the end of the day you constantly show old drivers of the same brand beating or playing exactly the same as the new latest driver from that stable, it's all marketing bullshit

  9. Honest and on point! Others go on bout it’s shocking aspect but I too thought cost and re sale is not justifiable, great to see you stand out on your own. This truly helps seeing the world of golf marketing for what it is, let’s face it it’s getting expensive.

  10. It’s simple: Wilson has a plan to be back in the top echelon of brands by 2030. You cannot do that if you price them too cheap, you will always be thought of as similar to the likes of Cleveland. And let’s be honest, they are SELLING at £100-£150 below Ping, Callaway & Titleist depending on the model you go for, so there are still savings to be had that will protect you on the re-sale. With respect, if that’s all you’re going to do review-wise on the Wilson drivers, that’s pretty ordinary Mark … and that’s from a fan who rarely misses one of your vids

  11. G’Day Mark, great review…what’s the chance you might get on the Takomo band wagon ?…every golf You Tuber without a soul seems to have got in on the ground floor of multi-level marketing campaign. ‘ these irons are the best I’ve ever hit “. All Good Bruh.

  12. Excellent video thanks Mark. The whole "shocking" trend is clickbait for sure. As for the price of these…well let's just say that with a perfectly well performing 2018 Callaway Rogue I was getting a little caught up in the hype to maybe test a new driver later this year and the Wilson certainly caught my eye. So I went to my local shop that sells Ping, Titleist and Wilson. The Wilson drivers were still in their boxes because of the price point – the shop has 2 top price brands and has always had the Wilson for the more budget friendly shopper. They are not interested in having 3 brands all at the same top price point and, whether you blame marketing or who plays the clubs on tour, people will stump up an extra $50-150 if it means buying a Ping or Titleist driver over a Wilson.

  13. Wilson need to create another brand name and sell like Dunlop – market segments – XXIO, Cleveland, Srixon brands all target different golfers. That way they can alter their pricing structures and messaging. I game the last Dynapower titanium, very good for mid to high handicappers, at a good price point, ie $400 less than the Pings here in NZ

  14. Bit of a double edged sword, if they price it too low it looks cheap and nasty, if it's too high then it doesn't have the same brand recognition and won't sell. All they can do is try and get into people's hands and hope they like it. If they continue to build quality drivers and woods like they've done with their irons then the recognisability will come.

  15. Wilson have spent an absolute fortune on R and D for this years models.. And are the price is justified in my opinion… They are the biggest sports equipment manufacturer in the world….the irons have always been some of the best made.. And the woods have finally played catchup…. 👍

  16. Absolutely agree, cobra produced good drivers for a while now, Wilson really only started taking it seriously 2 years ago. Mizuno are also further ahead in terms of product development. Would take cobra or Mizuno over Wilson all day long, based on brand and price. Mizuno this years is the best value on the market. On the other hand it also really depends on which fits you best.😢

  17. No offense to Wilson, but I don't think anyone is going to go drop $600 on a Wilson driver. Even if it was $499 you can get a brand new in the wrapper qi10, AI Smoke or Dark speed for under $400. Even if it's just as good, it's not better than any of those, plus if I'm at the course bragging about my new driver, it's not a Wilson.

  18. The only clubs in my bag that aren't Wilson are my putter (Odyssey) and driver (Titleist GT2). As much as I love the brand and clubs, driver is the one where I'll be sticking to Titleist – for all the reasons you mention Mark.

  19. I've been hitting the current Wilson Titanium driver for two years now. I am considering moving up to the new model, but seriously, I'm already hitting the fairway 80% of the time and with a distance of 225 yds. with my 80 mph swing speed. Unless I can add another 10 to 15 yards I don't see the point in spending $400 for the new model when my current Titanium cost me $300.

  20. Bravo Mark… You said what everyone else doesn't want to. Wilson has everything everyone else has… numbers, tech, etc… only thing that doesn't add up is the price with the name.. unfortunately the Wilson name doesn't carry any weight anymore, so it doesn't warrant that price. And the resale is non-existent. Sorry Wilson. The shock is the price not how good the product is.
